Derby County prepared to pay record fee for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker

Derby County manager Paul Clement is willing to break the Rams’ record transfer deal to land Wolves’ in demand striker Benik Afobe.

Afobe made his name after joining MK Dons on loan from Arsenal, where he graduated from the youth academy.

The young striker went on to score 10 goals in 22 appearances in League One for the Dons, helping them on the way to their eventual promotion.



He was quickly snapped up by Kenny Jackett at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he was an instant hit, and has struck 22 goals in 46 appearances for the Wolves, where he has attracted attention from a wide range of Premier League and top-end Championship clubs.
