Cardiff set to sign Tony Watt on a permanent basis next week.
Tony Watt is expected to sign a permanent deal at Cardiff City late next week with the Charlton loanee’s current loan deal expiring on January 16th. Watt has impressed during his time in South Wales and is set to cost Cardiff City around £1 Million.
During an interview last week, interim manager Karel Fraeye admitted he was “powerless” in Tony Watt’s situation and that the board would be dealing with the matter. Charlton are currently in sticky territory with supporters protesting against the way the club is run under the Belgian ownership.
The 22-year-old striker has scored two goals in eight league appearances for the Bluebirds following his loan signing on November 23rd. Many supporters believe Watt is the spark Cardiff need if they are going to compete for the Championship Play-Off places.
The deal is expected to be completed during the course of next weekend upon expiry of Watt’s loan at Cardiff. The former Celtic and Standard Liege striker said that he “feels at home” at Cardiff amid strong statements from the club that they have a deal in place to sign the fiery forward.
Charlton Athletic interim manager Karel Fraeye said “I think the situation with Tony Watt has to be discussed by the board and and it will be around mid-January when that decision is taken. It might also depend on what players we bring in.”
Cardiff are also expected to bring another striker which, according the Wales Online is a European forward currently based in the UK and more specifically the Championship. On the flip side, Cardiff are set to lose Kenwyne Jones to a foreign club after Jones and the club failed to agree a contract with a reduced wage.

A European forward based in the UK and currently based in the Championship?
Assuming it's going to be a "target man" type of player which Slade has already mentioned we need as a replacement for Kenwyne, who fits the bill?

Who's he? Is he any good? Can we get him for next to nothing?

We don't need a big hefty striker. Another pacy player or Saadi alongside Watt would be far more effective. However, Slade will go for a big fella I'm sure
