Great opportunity for city to get it right

Mon Jan 04, 2016 9:34 am

Yes IMO we now have a great opportunity to get our club back on a targeted future

What I would like to see /hear from our club is something along the lines of

We have to get rid of the high earners if we want to move on and that means the likes of Jones Morrison whitts noone dikgicoi the dead wood the likes of Doyle revelle and adeymi
Have a plan to sign young hungry affordable players and stick with them for the next couple of years
We must put a ceiling on wages and not go over a certain amount in basic wages but offer good bonuses for success
It is my honest belief that we should use this transfer window to put in place the above actions in readying ourselves for next season ,as we will not get relegated this season
The above actions would allow our debt to be reduced
Hopefully enough to either let tan sell us without him losing face and too much money ,or for him to have another go at getting us into the premier league again ,this time with a sustainable future

Also the club need to over haul season ticket prices during the next 2 seasons
Under 16 should be £50 in all areas other than the grandstand
This seasons season ticket holders should be given a reduction for the next 2 seasons

Good theory, that could work at properly run clubs. But Cardiff City ???
Slade would sign more players that are not good enough, from his experience in the lower leagues.
Give youngsters the chance instead of Doyle, Revell and the others, whoever/whereever they are, that he signed. What happened to James - made his debut against Chelsea in PL, never seen again?

the season tickets are cheap I think not a real rise in years

Pretty much agree with everything you are saying. Having a philosophy that is sustainable for the club and understood by the fans would be the ideal way to progress. We can only hope those that run our club have a clear vision for it's progress, too.

Agree Bella but unfortunately the average Cardiff fan does not want to hear about reducing debt and playing youngsters they want the premier dream (again!) and they want it now. Personally I enjoy the championship more than the premier. I know it sounds daft and I would like to see us tackle the big clubs again but not at the cost that the club paid last time both financially and ethically (ie losing contact with the long term fan.)

Agree - except maybe for Noone. It would be great to see almost a complete overhaul and build a squad of young, talented, pacy and hungry players around Gunnar, Ralls, Manga and Watt.

wonder if our fans would be patient enough for this type of re building

strange how other clubs fans have rallied around their clubs in a hour of need scenario

portsmouth rangers Sheffield united and to some extent even scumy leeds have great followings.

we on the other hand have fans who use any exscuse to knock our club and stay away from games home and away is getting worse .

the football is shit
don't want red
the price is too dear
the manager is clueless
the players don't care
tans taken our identity
shall I go on

we have had worse football than today in my life time
we are back in blue
its allways been hard to afford to go to games
alan cork,
again we have had players here just for the pay day on many occasions
hes given it back
shall I go on

The lack of ambition by fans is staggering, we now employ the same strategies as a supporters owned club but have a billionaire owner that is only willing to issue loans.

Sad state of affairs, Tan Out
