' Gabriel Tamas '

Curious case and I can't say I blame him for being aggrieved

Brought in as back up while we had Turner, Manga, Morrison and Connolly.

Turner injured, loaned out and now injured again and Morrison out injured leaving Manga and Connolly and Tamas.

Slades tells the media he is looking for a back-up.

I didnt hear Tamas complain when he was one of five fit centre backs as he signed on that proviso - but when he became one of three and essentially told that someone will be brought in in front of him its' bound to feel like a kick in the teeth.

Our club and Slades management is bizarre and the fact that youngsters are treated like leapers in the way they kept away from the first team is disgraceful - no wonder the discourse among agents is that City is essentially a grave yard for young players and knock senior players confidence to rock bottom - and if you don't believe me that is the discourse then speak to some current and ex pros.

Seems a good assessessment of his situation there.
Also agree about the youngsters not given a chance. The club supposedly cost cutting and then Slade signs 15 players, of only 1 (ONE) starts regularly.
There are 13/14 wage bills that could have been saved. Youngsters used as the back up if needed.
Yet more poor management (football and financial) in the club.

Div1 management tactics, that's all he knows so cant blame Slade.

Was it even slade who signed him though. Look at many others that have come here and have left playing very little so could be another case.

Tamas was brought in as Turner's injury was obviously worse than we thought at the time, and he was merely a backup. He's not playing as we don't need him. I'd like to point out here, I'm not a Slade fan but some of the stick he gets is silly.

Deji Oshilaja is our most promising centre half but he's made 15 appearances for Gillingham in League One, why bring him back to be backup? He's better off playing regularly at the top of the division below. He could be a good squad player for us next season with a year's experience under a good manager at Gillingham.

Kennedy is a curious case and I'd play him more, I'd imagine there is more to it than we think but I can't say for certain. I would rather he played as opposed to Ameobi but there we go. I don't see any of the other young players being remotely good enough. If John played, people would moan about Fabio not starting. John is the third best left back at the club and he's going to struggle to ever become as good as the current pair. It's worth pointing out, Barnsley fans don't rate John at all after last season's loan spell.
