Frustrated Gabriel Tamas set to leave Cardiff City without featuring for the Bluebirds
13:17, SUNDAY 3 JAN 2016

BY CHRIS WATHAN

Tamas' agent insists the 32-year-old will leave the Welsh capital if he does not get more chance to play

Gabriel Tamas is set to leave Cardiff City – without kicking a ball for the Bluebirds.

The Romania international was a surprise August signing by manager Russell Slade on a one-year deal, despite plenty of defensive cover at the club.

Yet the 32-year-old has told his agent to get him out of South Wales having failed to make a single appearance and having not been involved in a matchday squad since the end of November.

Former Watford and West Brom utility man Tamas has made the bench just nine times since earning a deal following a trial at the start of the season, but has made his frustrations known and wants a quick exit from his Cardiff City Stadium stay.

And his agent has claimed Slade is prepared to open the door for Tamas’ exit just after confirming striker Kenwyne Jones is set to leave the club after entering talks with an overseas outfit.

“If the situation continues where he doesn’t play, he will go,” said Tamas’ agent, Florin Manea.

“He is not the kind of player who wants to collect a salary without playing.

“We seek options for him to play elsewhere. The people there understand I talked to them and would be willing to let him go.”

IMO there will be a few leaving in this window

Jones, Tamas, Marshall, John, Noone, Pilkington, Ralls.

With more than 3 coming in, we were after a striker before Jones was even mentioned to be leaving!

2 strikers, winger, defender and midfielder coming in?

Busy busy just hope they are decent signings and ready to play and fit :ayatollah:

Why do you include players such as Blaise and Weymans? When they were signed by the staff of Kortrijk?

I'm sure that goes up all the time.

I count the following permanent signings.
Alex Revell
Lee Peltier
Eoin Doyle
Scott Malone
Gabriel Tamas
Semi Ajayi
Idriis Saadi
Stuart O'Keefe
Matthew Kennedy

Loan signings
Sammy Ameobi
Tony Watt
Conor McAleny

That's 12.

£2.4m worth of signings.
I'd say Peltier has been a successful signing, not on high wages and puts in a decent shift. Ajayi I think was a DVP signing, possible he might be given a chance here but I doubt it. Saadi has been hit with injuries. Kennedy started off well but attitude is letting him down. O'Keefe I'd probably say is Slade's worst signing for money IMO. Malone has been an OK signing. Tamas is a weird signing but minimal risk due to no fee. Doyle is a bit of a shame but I'm sure we could get money back on him and Revell a safe signing.

The price of Brayford who was never picked. Quarter of the price of Cornelius also not picked as one for the future.

Same price as Eikrem and Berget together who were Ole signings.

Annis is counting Ravel Morrison as well who was here for what? 2 months? Signed BEFORE Slade was even here as well I think.
Plenty of managers have had players come in and not been used. How many departures have we had since Slade has been here?

Slade's got a few years to go at this rate of wasting money on players not playing regular to waste the club as much as Milky with Brayford and Corneilius.

Annis, look at where Maynard and Kimbo are now. Maynard cost us £2.5m. That's the amount of money Slade has had on one manager. Kimbo cost the same price and he's now playing in Japan

Thats incredible. Shows that the squad we had was already quality, and Slade doesn't thave the ability to locate good enough players to add to it. Especially when you consider than Adeyemi etc are doing ok out on loan Slade obviously deemed them not good enough. I really think with a decent manager we would be easily in the playoffs, instead we are underachieving. When you have players the quality of Marshall, Fabio, Manga, Whitters, Kenwyne etc in the spine of the team we should be doing better. Could even be argued that when some of our other players are on form like Noone etc that we should again be doing better.

And yet he is one injury away from the first team at the moment. He also has a history of alcohol and behavioural issues. Is it possible that these have resurfaced? I doubt he is on massive wages and seemed a low cost back up, especially as any 2 of our 4 main choice centre backs always seem to be injured at the same time. If he is keen to play then I think he will have to drop down the leagues.

One man who is on his way out of Cardiff City Stadium is striker Kenwyne Jones, who has held talks with Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira and Chinese side Shanghai SIPG over a £50,000 a week loan deal.

Defender Gabriel Tamas is also on his way out without playing a minute of first-team football.

The Romanian international, 32, joined the Bluebirds on a one-year deal in August, with the option for a further year’s extension.

However, the former West Brom and Watford man has not been able to force his way into Russell Slade’s plans with Matt Connolly, Sean Morrison and Bruno Manga ahead of him in the pecking order.

Tamas has not featured at all for the first team, and has not been involved in a matchday squad since the end of November.
