The thing that baffles me is that we water every game before kick off and at half time even though its been pouring down.
Do Cardiff water the pitch before games even if it's been raining?

I don't buy the weather argument. The pitch has a modern drainage system. The north-west of England has probably had more rain than South Wales and look how good the Everton pitch still looks and is playing.

My theory is that we've had unprecedented levels of rainfall and, despite having modern drainage, this hasn't been able to cope. The reason behind this, imo, is that our ground is barely above sea level and as such the surrounding low-level water table would be saturated due to the volume of rain. The water in the drains needs to be able to flow/fall away but can't. Cardiff has been identified as one of the cities that would suffer most with rising sea levels & there has been plenty in the press showing the projected flood areas.
There aren't many grounds that are as close to the sea as ours - the jacks ground is in Landore, which is significantly higher than ours to my knowledge.
Any civil engineers here that could confirm?

Rubbish. We've including you have top notch pitches with under water tanks to deal with extreme weather conditions.

Any chance of translating that into English?
