Watt partnership

Sat Jan 02, 2016 12:12 pm

Now the club have told Jones he's free to go we should start partnering Watt with a new partner. The partnership I think that would work the best with the player we have available to us is Macheda and Watt.
Macheda like Jones isn't the most willing runner and can be frustrating but he offered us more than Jones and he is still relatively young compared to the big man.
Kiko knows how to score with his feet unlike Jones who only offered us headers (I know he scored two goals the other week but any non-league player would have scored them.). Playing with Watt a willing runner to do all the work I think the goals would come easier.

I agree Macheda needs a workhorse with him to create space, in space he will score, but christ is he frustrating and those who want to see a non stop running striker will find their new scapegoat.

I agree he will be used as a scapegoat but then again would you rather Mason who pretends to work or would you rather Macheda who will sometimes work but will fashion chances no matter what?

what has macheda done that Jones hasnt is the question?jones runs more unbeatable in the air and can defend set pieces not to mention his quality flick ons.all I can remember macheda doing is standing on the half way looking disintrested lol

Nothing, although that goal against forest (i think) demonstrated at different footballing ability.

Going to be a weird second half of the season

Those quality flick ons only work when Jones can be bothered. Some games it really does feel like we're playing with 10 men.
Can you not remember the 7 or 8 games last season where Macheda was starting every game he scored something like 5 goals and a beauty where I think Whitt's played the ball over the top he beat the last man and slide the ball under the keeper from a tightish angle, that showed me just how much quality he has

Mason if he comes back in with the right attitude could do ok but I still feel Macheda is the better choice, guess we'll see what happens today now

Haha I don't think there's many who would want to start Ravel.
I would liked to have seen Macheda given an hour before Mason.

I personally would like to se LeFondre back him and Watt would terrorise defences
