Cardiff City boss Russell Slade second favourite for Luton Town job as section of Bluebirds fans turn on manager again
But Vincent Tan is believed to be happy with Slades management at Cardiff.

Slade's team were booed off the field by some sections of the crowd following Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest

Under-fire Russell Slade is second favourite to become the next manager of Luton Town as some Bluebirds fans continue to voice concerns over his Cardiff City tenure.

Slade's team were booed off the field by some sections of the crowd following Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest - the Bluebirds' first point of a miserable festive campaign that saw them lose to Birmingham and MK Dons.

Cardiff are now six points adrift of the Championship play-off spots in tenth place, with Slade's critics becoming more vocal in recent days.

The fresh criticism comes as Slade was made 4/1 second favourite by bookmakers to succeed John Still, who was sacked nearly two weeks ago by League Two Luton.

Former England goalkeeper David James is the clear 1/2 favourite despite his complete lack of managerial experience.

Slade's relationship with some Cardiff supporters has been strained since the day he took the job despite recent improvements in performances.

And failure to push on the race for the play-offs over the past week means the manager is facing more doubts over his ability as he targets three new signings in the January transfer window.

Owner Vincent Tan is believed to be satisfied with the job Slade has done so far but it remains unclear exactly how much backing the Malaysian billionaire, who is rarely seen at Cardiff these days, will actually give his manager in the January window.

All of this hate towards Slade is all because he's not a big name. If Bellamy had Cardiff in the position we're currently in everyone would be singing his praises.

I agree with you to a point.
Slade always been on a hiding to nothing.

However, he hasn't helped himself by continuing with either out of form players or tactics on occasions.

This league is about graft, pace and finishing -no room to carry players.
Playing kj and ameobi in same team leaves us short in graft or an out of form noone not providing balls into box is so clear to see by many fans.
We are unable to break defences. Watt was 30 yards from goal on many occasions trying to get the ball last night.
Kj his usual and no one poor.

Fans can see this and have continued to see it for some time.
Hence the frustration with slade

The football club needs a freshening up. :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout:

Fundamental problem is the club controllers don't know anything about football.

Half the season to go, a few new players, a manager who knows how to manage a football team, and who knows there we could finish up.

What is certain is that going on last night's sterile performance, where Forest were there to be beaten, and with so much possession but creating little especially in 2nd half, that the team will be safely middle when this season finishes.

Surely £150000 a year will get him.

Most of it being the fans doing.
Not giving anyone a chance.
Quite ashamed of the way Bluebird fans act.

To blame the fans is quite ridiculous, in my humble opinion of course

Slade s contract is a basic 120,000 a year but he has massive bonuses so I've been told ,wins ,draws and promotion bonus I doubt Luton could get anywhere near his actual take home money

8 pts dropped over the festive period against mediocre opposition is not good enough.

It's a results business and we are not getting results!!! We are 6 pts off the play offs but also 6 pts off 17th!!!

The fans have been deeply affected by the Tan circus and the open war against malky.
There are splits along many lines.

Russell has been doomed from the start, personally I think he is doing an OK Job. But he will only be ok.

He is like the moyes after fergie, no time, no backing from club or fans.

Modern fans have been created to want immediate success and entertainment

The sack race is embarrassing and football has gone boring as a result. Only now we are starting to see teams in premier actually trying to win games away from home and smaller clubs having a go at bigger ones.
Premier arguably better now for it.

Championship is dull spectacle because of pressure to reach premier.
A manager with spark and guile plus club support can smash up the championship . We don't have this at City

Why would he want to drop two divisions? I think he is good enough for a top league 1 side or a bottom half championship club.

Haaa not the worst ever but the football is boring it's painful at times
Hex doing his best but it's just not good enough .
Slade has been up against it from day one came to us as a low league manager with little success in a long career and that's why most city fans saw his appointment as inept a lack of ambition by ccfc.

Slade would have to hit the ground running on top of reducing the playing squad.
It's been doomed since the start really.

Yet again VT had it wrong slade should never of been our manager.

Vt needs to show an intent and sort the mess out by appointing as decent manager

You make some very good points, but I thought Noone had a good first half and then faded.
