The shooting was awful tonight but it takes far too long to get a shot off. In addition, one of our centeral midfielders must drive into the box and try to beat a player so that the opposition are forced to come out of their own pattern. It is no good shuffling the ball sideways.
Finally, with Jones lumbering about it is like playing with 10 players. Sure he does try to be a target but there is little movement from him and once he has the held the ball up and passed it he has to try and move again and take a defender with him. It is so frustrating. When Forest defended in numbers we needed Jones off, Witts on the ball and Ralls and Gunners running driving into the box to support Watt. Finally, when Ameobi came on, the ball had to be played quickly to feet so that he can turn and run at defenders. Fabio was poor attacking tonight. Was he hold not to drive into the box? As for Peltier, he NEVER overlaps and therefore the opposition never have to think. Bruno was fantastic -class. With Ipswich winning tonight we have defo slipped too far back.

We did look clueless in the final third and we did look afraid to shoot but we are building up attacks from the back possession football these last 3 games so just need to find the cutting edge and get some wins.

In the first half i was watching Jones and he was frustrated a hell. Was missed opportunity after opportunity to cross the diagonal ball into him, the ball we played earlier in the season and he just lost interest.
I loved the neat inter passing and clever movement, but if this is our style we really don't need jones, we need a turn and go merchant like Watt who'll run into space and drag the defence out of shape or a genuine goal scoring run beyond the striker midfielder.
It was nice to watch and work in progress. I described it on the match thread as Arsenal like.

We need Saadi or a pacy striker and a pacy winger and we will look really good.

Cardiff boss Russell Slade accused Nottingham Forest of "parking the bus" after the Bluebirds fell further off the Sky Bet Championship play-off pace with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday evening.
The visitors had led through 18-year-old Oliver Burke's ninth-minute opener - his first senior goal - but were pegged back by a deflected Aron Gunnarsson effort four minutes later.
Cardiff had over 60 per cent of possession and 17 shots to Forest's six, but they could not make it pay as they dropped six points behind the top six, much to Slade's frustration.

Trouble is it's too slow the build up we need some more direct players to give us some momentum
