A forum for all things Cardiff City

City looked excellent tonight for long periods of the game, Russell Slade sent his team out to attack and use the width to take the game to Forest from the first minute.
Slade is no doubt trying to set the team up to attack when at home and it is welcomed by the fans, those who have been there in the last four home matches will testify to that.
The team and the manager can be disappointed not to take all three points from tonight's match because they were far better than Forest.
Where we did lack today was what substitutes we were able to bring on.
Macheda, I don't think had a touch when he came on.
Ameobi tried and offered a little more than Macheda but not do enough to trouble Forest like Noone did.
If City can continue the form from tonight and take it into future matches then we will win more than we lose between now and the end of the season.

Yeah some the subs were odd i have to say replacing Jones with Ameobi replacing a lazy ineffective player with another I would start Macheda with Watt until Saadi comes in and I thought we played some good possession football hopefully we get the cutting edge plus it was nice seeing you Carl.

He did in fairness

Totally agree about Jones and Amoebi,a waste of a substitution. I thought Noone was playing quite well before he was taken off.

I thought he slowed the game right down! We lost the drive from the middle when gunnarsson went off some of his balls into the box towards then end could have been better delivered!

I bet you were one of those who cheered when Jones went of and then moaned we didn't pump it aimlessly upfield in the last 15 mins.
Gunnarson was their best passer, all their opportunities came from him and his lack of control.

Carl, I would have left the substitutes for as long as possible. We were doing ok until Jones came off, and then we didn't seem to have any spark.
Personally I would have taken off Watt if anyone, he looked dead on his feet and was poor tonight.
We have different views on this team as we spoke about tonight, but good to see you again and see you soon

Ned, at the moment I think my opinion is different to most I speak too but that is what is good about football and the differing opinions.
Good to see you too mate

Whittingham slowed our whole game down by about 50% when he came on. With Noone gone too our attacks were pedestrian.
Whittlinghams first thought is to pass it backwards, and do it slowly.

Some absolute twonks, we looked far more threatening when Whitts came on, he was carrying us up the field with 40 yard passes to the wings.
Noone didn't threaten Forest at all, far too predictable and got tackled so many times.. it's all good cutting in but his deliver was woeful. Wouldn't warrant a 3/10 for his performance, garbage.

Carl,
I was hugely dissapointed to see a City player walking through town last night at 10.10.
It showed ro me that even after a poor performance Slade is letting them walk away virtually straight after the final whistle, as if the football was an after thought in players minds. Wonder if this means dressing room trust has gone.
The player did 90 minutes too, was shocked

Some are saying Noone was MOTM.

He started well but should've been subbed earlier in the second half.

If you say cutting in on your left foot is doing well or causing a threat you might as well start considering players like Pilkington making a 5 yard pass MOTM.
Noone was woeful.. All good cutting in but he done s**t all after that.

2 questions
1- Can someone explain to me Nooney playing on the wrong wing in a 442 with one of the best headers of the football as one of your 2 centre forwards.... This makes no sense, I see it in a 433, but we are wasting jones main talent.
2- What position does Pilkington play ? is he another non crossing 442 winger.

Slade can't play 433 wished he could because all the players we played yesterday dare I say it and what you said Jones can play in it Pilkington is a technical winger doesn't suit a 442 and goes for Noone aswell and with Ralls Whitts and Gunnar in a midfield 3.
