I personally think he's bright and buzzy with plenty of energy, gets around the pitch easily and he's a decent footballer. My first impression is he's like a right footed Joe Ralls, although watching him for just one half is way too early to judge him properly.

He's got caught in possession twice in dangerous areas, but the second time he was fouled. He's in a struggling team and he's trying to do too much at times, but at least there's an enthusiasm about his game and he's demanding the ball and not hiding.

Overall so far, I think he would be well worth bringing into our squad. Let's see how he performs in the second half.

Looked lazy to me but I only checked the second half out. Loads of space to move in to but seemed to walk about the pitch

Looked tidy but he wouldn't add anything looking at him from todays game. We've got plenty of players who can get on the ball and plenty of players that can get around midfield, we need someone who can provide a spark and can make something happen in the final third. This Vela doesnt look like he has those qualities.

is he a full back or DM.

If he is a DM then why do we want another player who doesn't fit into a standard 442 ?

Looked distinctively average to me. Unfair to be too critical though based on one match, even though some on here judge a player after watching a 5 minute youtube clip.
