I wouldn't be surprised. This is the same owner that allowed Malky to spend £8m+ on a Danish carthorse.

He didn't let him. He gave a budget to Malky and Moody and trusted them to spend it wisely. They wasted it.

Then he let him. If you give someone money and trust them to make good decisions, then you let them have free reign over how its spent.

But nukes said let him spend it on an 8 million cart horse. He didn't. That was the main reason he decided to sack him.

Oh so now you admit tan set the budget. So malky didn't overspend, tan did? Bit of a backtrack here.

Well there is debate over that as apparently it was 35 million and 50 million was spent. My point is that Tan or anyone for that matter didn't expect Malky to spend 8.5 million on 'one for the future'.

But the question remains. If they didn't want to spend the level of money they did on the players they did then why did they sign the contacts involved?

I read an article that said Moody could sign off on contracts. Not sure if that's right.

All big contracts had to be ( as they are now) signed off at CEO/ director level. Plus Moody was never a signatory on the bank account to authorise the payments.

But tan or his CO still signed the cheques. They still take responsibility for the cash spent. Malkys fault for buying a dud that's fair enough but you have to admit the board hold huge responsiblity due to their complete lack of football knowledge

No I'm not I'm not blinded because Malky used to fist pump.

Malky and Moody were in charge of player signings. Remember the dossier. It was after Cornelius not playing that Tan stopped trusting Malky and Moody and I don't blame him.
