Tan is no fool and will go down every avenue to get back some of his loss once he's pocketed the parachute payments.
He has long lost interest in the club and is just bidding his time to do with us what he wants.

We'll have a big debt with intrest payments but can't see where the losses would be coming from apart from that.
VT has stated that he would leave the club in a better state than he took it over. Make of that what you will I suppose.

We've still got a massive wage bill.
It was over £40m and although £12m was taken off it, I would expect it's still not far off £30m
There are also plenty of other costs, club staff, stadium costs, agent fees, equipment rental, admin, legal etc...
Our income would be about £10-15m normal income, plus parachute payments of something like £20-16m
These figures might not be exact, but they aren't a million miles out, but it's clear to see that we are heavily reliant on the parachute payments and that without major cuts in the wage bill we will struggle to make a profit, never mind Tan keeping the parachute payments

Thanks for explaining, mate. So what do you think VTs plan is? Clearly it isn't 'let's throw cash at possible promotion'. Could it be, clear the decks a bit, get a new guy as manager and then give it another go at promotion? Or am I wishful thinking. Can't see what he's trying to do.

200 million can you tell me where you got that ammount from ?
We had £176 million of debt last year add on to that this years loss and we will be heading to £200 million.Basic maths.
With the shite support were getting the gate money would not even be covering the interest.

It's only a guess, but I think he's looking at trying to slowly bring the wage bill down to reduce what he has to put in and then run us at a small loss in the hope we can go up at some point.
I also think he's looking to use his European clubs to improve us on the cheap.
I reckon a lot have it wrong, in that he's looking long term at developing the club this way.
Whether this strategy works or no who knows.
If we go up I think he'll sell us to recoup as much of his money as he can.

I believe Slade is part of the long term plan, I think he does his job and is gone in the summer, minus a lot of high earners, then its a gamble on a young coach who wants to bring kids through from the academy and "feeder" clubs.

Yes, If his Belgium clubs manager looks promising, it could be him. I think Vinny got his fingers burnt and you have to earn his trust.
My Kingfisher shares lost half their value about 10 years ago, rather than sell at a loss, i have kept them, receive a dividend, they are still not worth much more than half, but there was no real advantage to selling them. I never check their price I just get a statement every year. A bit like Vinny.

Wonder if he is learning English or can already speak it. Been around decent clubs and players.
Don't think he has his PGCE in PE like our Russ though
