' NEIL LENNON CONFIRMS CARDIFF CITY HAVE '

By Vital Football

26th Dec 2015

Bolton boss Neil Lennon has confirmed Cardiff City have made an enquiry over the availability of Josh Vela.

Newspaper reports on Thursday suggested the Bluebirds were set to table a £450,000 offer for the Wanderers academy graduate, who has been with the club since the age of nine.

Now 22-years-old, Vela has established himself with the Championship's bottom club, making 57 appearances, but Lennon has revealed a decision needs to be made on his future after the club became aware of interest in the player.

"Josh has the same injury that he missed the Fulham game with," Lennon told Marc Iles, broadcast on BBC Radio Manchester.

"There has been an enquiry for Josh from Cardiff, but whether or not it is confirmed or goes through I don't know yet."

When pressed for an answer on whether a decision on the player's future would be taken out of Lennon's hands, the manager simply responded: "Yes".

Another midfielder who doesn't score. Just what we need.

Sounds like an excellent signing to bring in a midfield player from a club that hasn't won in 17 games & are rock bottom of the table I bet he'll dominate for us!! FFS is he for real how much longer are going to employ him & let him bring shit players in?

Don't take his advice on players ffs he thought Alex Revell was a top striker and he could see things us lesser mortals couldn't.

I think he appeared in a film with Bruce Willis as a child.

I've heard the name but I don't know anywhere near enough about him to make the idiotic judgement city74 has just made without seeing him play.

Most normal, fair fans prefer to actually watch the player play first before making a judgement. Unfortunately, fans like city74 are happy to unreasonably slate Slade for anything and you're continually happy to slate any post defending Slade, simply because he took over from your beloved Ole. How sad.

Yet you were happy to claim Simon Moore was going to be the future England goalkeeper before you'd seen him play because your beloved Malky signed him :laughing5:

But he speaks the truth!? Other than Watt, Slade has brought nothing to the table that we didn't already have. From what i have found, Vela is nothing but a poor mans Adeyemi. And what is the point of that? But like i thought, you had nothing to add

You say Slade has brought nothing to the table. What exactly did Ole bring to the table then? Blowing millions we couldn't afford on below average players? Getting us relegated without any fight and then sliding down the Championship table the following season? Don't get me started on his constant tinkering. I say Slade has cleared your beloved Ole's mess up.

Slade hasn't been given a penny to spend this season and all of Slade's signings last season were cut back signings to reshape our squad and replace Ole's expensive flops. For you to not understand that is baffling, but you'll do whatever it takes to try to make out Ole wasn't given a fair crack and we would be in a much better position now if we stuck with Ole.

I haven't seen Vela play enough to give an opinion on him, so like I said, I will watch him play first, then make a judgement. If you're correct in saying Vela is a poor mans Adeyemi, then he will be a disastrous signing as Adeyemi was one of several poor signings by Ole. Adeyemi's on the bench for Leeds right now. I think only Ole can convince Tan to fork out 1 million for a centre midfielder who didn't manage to make 1 block for us in 20 appearances.

When we signed Tony Watt, 95% of this forum were questioning why we were signing "a League 1 player unable to break into a struggling Charlton team - the level of player only a lower league dinosaur manager like Russell Slade would bring in". Watt has proved everyone wrong and 95% of this forum now look like idiots. 95% of this forum formed an unreasonable, incorrect judgement on Tony Watt without seeing him play, just because Russell Slade signed him.

Like I said, I would actually like to watch Josh Vela play first before forming an opinion of him. That way, I can form an honest, fair opinion without looking like an idiot like the 95% of the initial anti Tony Watt/Russell Slade brigade.

Being better than Ole is no praise. Is he better than Malky or DJ, no, he is nowhere near.

A million on Doyle is hardly nothing to spend, some of the youngsters he bought may turn out Ok, but he appear reluctant to play any of them.

Where would this lad play, we have central midfielders coming out of our ears ?

Yes Tonteg I did say the same about Watt & if you think a player who wasn't good enough for Charlton is any better than what we loaned out I think you're deluded. This Vela guy is playing for the worst team currently in the division so he must be making a hell of an impact there!!

To think that when Slade started we had guerra, matts Daehli, Ravel Morrison, now we get excited with a guy who is standing out because he runs at the opposition! Watt is not a bad player, but I don't think he has any more quality than what we had to start with! Appreciate we needed to lose some players due to wages etc, but rather than spend wages on revell, Doyle, Malone, Okeefe and the other players he have signed just sitting in the reserve, he would have been better just adding 1 quality player! This summer we had a full transfer window and we failed with list 1 and list 2, because Slade couldn't attract anyone on those lists! He only brings in players he know will fit his style and that's alarming! Lower league!!! Without adaptation and variance you will easily get found out! Exactly what is happening again this season! Our failure to bring in a leader and voice in the middle will yet again be our downfall this season!

Slade out

I do agree with this, Andy Campbell is the best example I can think of, unplayable on loan for us but when we signed him permanently, what a difference! Matt Brazier was the same as well.

I would like to think Tony Watt will continue his current level of effort and performance mind because he seems the type of character who will always give his all.

Congratulation! It worked.. You put down so much rubbish I couldn't be arsed to read it all. Vela was voted biggest pile of rubbish last time we played him. Jog on Tonteg..

I think the fact you say you didn't read my post and couldn't debate any of my points suggests I've won the debate.

Jog on Ole lover.

What debate? You Slate a poster because he say Vela is shit, yet you know nothing of him. And he is right, he is shit! Just like 95 % of Slade signings.. You bringing in all sorts of non relevant arguments hardly classify it as a debate, just more crazy talk

People are so quick to judge people before they signed or played... Tony Watt prime example.

Give them a chance first.

Is he a right back or central midfielder ?

CM

Ralls
Gunnar
Whitts
Dikgachoi
O'Keefe
O'Sullivan

There's 6.

Right back- Peltier with Fabs as back up for both sides (as mental as that sounds)

He is going to be a right back then with Fabio off somewhere
