Adeyemi back on the menu for Forest
RECOVERED: Leeds United's Tom Adeyemi.
Wednesday 23 December 2015
MIDFIELDER Tom Adeyemi has recovered from the virus that flattened him against Wolves and will travel on the Leeds United coach for Sunday’s Championship clash at Nottingham Forest.
A lethargic looking Adeyemi was subbed after half an hour of last Thursday’s 3-2 win at Molineux with head coach Steve Evans revealing afterwards that the Cardiff loanee probably had a virus.
The 24-year-old then missed Sunday’s 1-0 defeat of Preston North End at Elland Road but Evans reported the defensive midfielder in good condition at Thorp Arch on Wednesday morning.
Evans laughed: “I’ve just gone past him in the canteen and he was sitting there with a big bowl of breakfast so I take it he’s okay.
“He was looking well and smiling and chirpy.
“He was laid low for a couple of days with a virus and it’s never nice.
“He looked as if he was just devoid of any energy after 30 seconds at Wolves, never mind ten minutes, but he’s back and available and will be on the team coach going to Nottingham.”

I think he had that virus when he played for us , hopefully Leeds still want him at the end of the loan spell and Cardiff get their money back from any permanent deal ...... too many players ahead of him for any future at Cardiff

Good player and I hope he comes back to us. He offers something different to what we already got. Yes there are a couple of players ahead of him in the pecking order; Ralls, Gunnar and Digkacoi but he's got to be better than the rest. Played in the right formation and with better support than Slade I think he could be a very important player for us

Hopefully Leeds can pay back the money we got for him.

Steve Evans has confirmed that midfielder Tom Adeyemi will return to the United squad for Sunday’s trip to Nottingham Forest after recovering from a virus.
Evans also expects captain Sol Bamba to get some game time over the festive period following his recent stint out of the team with a fractured toe.
Adeyemi was absent for last weekend’s 1-0 victory at home to Preston having been forced off in the first half of the win over Wolves three days earlier, while Bamba has been an unused substitute for United’s last two outings after returning from injury.
Asked about Adeyemi’s situation, Evans said: “He was laid low for a couple of days with a virus and it’s never nice.
“He looked as if he was just devoid of any energy after 30 seconds at Wolves, never mind ten minutes, but he’s back and available and will be on the team coach going to Nottingham.”

I think Gunnar is limited and limiting but he is Frank Lampard compared to Adeyemi

I think Adeyemi is much more athletic and than Gunnarson and would prop help Ralls more?

Well lets be honest Adeyemi wasn't given much of a chance so what makes you think Adeyemi is not very good?

I believe in controlled possession football, for that Whitts, Ralls , Dikgacoi and pilkington all have a good first touch and can take the ball in whatever situation, Adeyemi's second touch is a tackle because he hasn't an adequate first touch.

So Adeyemi is just a poor Gunnarson?

I don't think with a player that has only made 20 half of them coming off the bench appearances can be judged properly yes his touch needs improvement but don't forget about his other attributes he is athletic and full of energy to drive the team forward and would work probably better than Gunnar alongside Ralls in a 442.

you make a fair point.
but i think a loan at least was the right call. He isnt good enough imo to be playing consistently in our side at the moment.
Perhaps he can come back here and have a good pre season and push for a place alongside ralls, but right now he is in the right place and it wouldnt bother me if he was sold.

I am hoping he does come back he is one of the midfielders that i think can work in a 442 with Ralls because he can be box to box or a holding midfielder and is not afraid to go forward probably better than Gunnar and i would have him ahead of the big slow chunky Dikagcoi.

I agree with this, he used to look like he got stuck in but that was because he gave the ball away first.
He's like the head case playing centre midfield in Sunday league football, has more tackles than completed passes a game.
He would be behind Gunnarson and Dikgachoi from what I've seen of him
