Do Jacks have relegation clauses in contracts?

Wed Dec 23, 2015 9:28 am

For Ayew, Gomis and any other of their big signings. Big mistake that QPR made was not have them.

Might be difficult to shift players if they haven't.

Most clubs do , Hugh Jenkins appears to be astute with things like this - don't know but that's my guess

However they feel they are firmly established in the Premiership. Would they have got Ayew if there was a possibility his wages would drop?

The clause is that they will have to move from their 12ft caravans into 10ft ones. Plus they will able to use the site's payphone free of charge to cry to their mums before they head east to face us!!! :ayatollah:

Totally agree with NI over Jenkins. Seems to be on the ball when it comes to the fine print of contracts.

I don't know if this counts but I asked Santa 'Clause' for a Jack relegation ;)

If Huw Jenkins was as astute as people claim, then if the alleged rumours are true, then he would have nipped it in the bud as soon as possible, asked the person high up to step down and ensured that his squad moved forward. Instead, it appears that the squad is massively unsettled at the moment and the situation should have been handled much better. It must be noted that the above at the moment is just rumours.

What can Huw Jenkins do? He is not the boss of the person you refer to - in fact he owns less of the club than him. He is however, a bad egg and has been for a very long time, not just this season.

Back the manager, team and make it clear of his support for them. As far as the rumour goes, this isn't what happened, there was a split in the camp between those at the top including the manager and the squad. The squad therefore felt let down by the manager. The player in question has also left on loan. Huw is a high profile businessman at the club. As for the other person in question, if it is true then its quite clearly a conflict of interests, and any business worth its salt should have specific procedures in place for such a scenario.

Anyway, if the rumours are true then Cardiff still cant really criticise. It'll only mean there's two circuses operating in South Wales as opposed to one.

He did that in my opinion, Garry had a lot more time than most chairman would have afforded the manager given the complete shambles that was forming on and off the pitch. Huw could have done no more. He gave him as big a chance to turn it round as he realistically could.

The "rumour" (its fact by the way) is very damaging. But again Huw cannot tell someone who owns more of Swansea than he does to leave his own company, Huw is the chairman not the owner. Im sure no businesses have any legislation for that in contracts, its not something that is common place in business contracts lets be fair - although id like to see it worded in a contract just for my own personal amusement ;)

Im not going to pretend its rosy because it isnt, lots have become comfortable and let their personal and professional code of conduct slide. It is now down to Huw to appoint the right man to restore the nonsense that has gone down this season. But we have a fantastic squad of players (minus a striker) so im still confident of finishing mid table, but the xmas period is vital. The recent signs on the pitch are promising.
