How much might they spend?

Despite noises from the club that Vincent Tan is still very much committed to securing Premier League football once more and that money is available for Slade, expect things to be done on a budget. Surely, the lack of interest in Weghorst at an inflated price is evidence of that.

The Watt deal will be done for around £1m and the Bluebirds will look to pick up another striker for a similar fee, if you factor in the same for a winger, than a £3m budget next month might not be too wide of the mark.

Theres strong rumours at the club that Tan would of given Slade £5mill if we had been in top 6 come Jan transfers, but if not Slade will be lucky to get £2mill, Slade also has to still get rid of more players as well.

But Carl, with the club now saying a CB is priority does that mean slade has to sacrifice an attacking signing?

We have ZERO chance of promotion and an outside chance of the play offs - and even if we do make it to play offs - there will be better teams than us in there.

Good luck to Slade - but he is a complete muppet and so is Scott Young - they would be better off going to Newport County.

I have no problem with a restricted budget and it wasn't that long ago when £1m signings were the stuff of dreams for us! Watt for £1m could be decent value but he's more potential than proof. If he fulfils his potential then that will be a bargain. Who else can we get for that amount? A big man to partner him up front ideally. Shift Jones on.

5 mil,no chance tan will spend that amount,no matter what position we are in,and 5 million is not alot these days, big clubs in the championship have spent double that amount on just one player,we want to spent 5 million on the spine of the team

They may spend money on Watt but I wont hold my breath and it would not surprise me to see him go back to Charlton knowing our club, but in terms of any other spends I cant see any money being spent on another player unless Coco (Slade) sells someone PS I hope I'm wrong on all counts :sladeout:

Lets hope that there is room to negotiate for Wout W. Especially if jones goes along with the inflated salary We've offerred £700k and surely we can up that to between £1 and 1.5 million? Hopefully there sould still be enough for pacey winger. Many trams areevenly matched this year, with those purchases we'd have a chance of the play offs.

Spot on.

I would imagine nearly all Championship clubs would love a £3m January transfer budget.

At least 3 clubs have embargos, with several others being monitored by the FA. Hope we aren't.

£1m for watt is great business, a decent midfielder and one or two out the door and we'll be laughing.
