A forum for all things Cardiff City

Are January transfers successful and what is Russell Slade’s record like at Cardiff?
Signings made in January are usually seen as more tricky than those done during the close season in the summer.
Players have to hit the ground running at their new clubs with little time to bed in as games come thick and fast.
Prices too can be inflated and deals have to be done quicker. How about the £28m Manchester City paid Swansea City for Wilfried Bony last January? Hardly money well spent.
Last January was Russell Slade’s first transfer window at the club since taking over in the previous October. His business was, suffice to say, mixed.
He took great strides in defence with the arrival of full-backs Scott Malone and Lee Peltier, but his search for the men to fire the goals was less successful with Alex Revell and Eoin Doyle shipping up in the Welsh capital and failing to make an impact.

I think Slade's transfer business have been hit and miss so far.
