A forum for all things Cardiff City

West Ham defender James Collins wouldn't mind twisting the knife into Swansea on Sunday when the boyhood Cardiff fan faces the managerless side at the Liberty Stadium.
Swansea sacked Garry Monk earlier this month and have not appointed his successor ahead of their final fixture before Christmas.
Collins, who signed for Cardiff at the age of 14, is relishing the chance to make matters worse for his former club’s rivals.
‘It’s a massive rivalry and a great game to play in,’ Collins said. I do get a bit of stick down there, which is understandable.
‘Growing up as a Cardiff fan, I didn’t want Swansea to do too well, but to play against them now is a different kettle of fish.
‘I was at Cardiff a long time ago. That rivalry is not there too much anymore but all my pals are still Cardiff fans so to get one over on them would be nice for my mates.’
Collins has friends in the Swansea team and got in touch with Wales team-mate Ashley Williams following Monk’s dismissal.
Despite it being a difficult time for his friend, Collins hopes to inflict more misery on the Swansea captain.
‘I’m quite close with Ashley Williams so I spoke to him this week,’ Collins continued. ‘There’s a bit of turmoil down there at the minute with the manager. They don’t know what’s happening.
‘So I’ve spoke to Ash. The rivalry has started already.’
West Ham and Swansea are both without a win in six games and Collins added: ‘I think it was a bit harsh Monk getting sacked if I’m honest.
‘I think he was doing a good job down there. The results weren’t quite going right but they’re footballers. They’ll be up for any game.
‘I’m looking forward to seeing them and hopefully getting one over on them on Sunday.’
This season could be crucial for Collins, who is aiming to be included in the Wales squad for this summer’s Euro 2016.
‘It’s massive. Going to the Euros, I’m going to have to be playing to get into the Wales team,’ Collins said. ‘My club form is going to be massive going into the tournament.’

Ginge was sensational today. Defended his goal manfully, got his headers in, blocked shots was physical and aggressive.
He also got away with a cheeky handball, and a wonderful but of acting to follow.
