" Conceding Goals/Bruno Manga? "
18/12/15
Steve Tucker asks Slade You are conceding goals now. What is the problem? Are you going to recall Bruno Manga?
Russell Slade's Answer
It’s about achieving a balance between being a threat going forward, creating chances and we are doing that, but at the same time we have looked loose particularly in the second-halves.
I look at everything really and I analyse all units, defensively and midfield. By and large Morrison and Connolly have been excellent this season it has to be said.
Manga has been dogged by injuries and it has been a frustrating time for him, but surely there will be a part to play for him between now and the end of the season.
We are working on it all, we talk about it, you need an openness from that point of view and I think you find it’s normally not one major thing, it’s normally in the detail. It’s probably lots of things.
We conceded from a set-play which is unlike us on Tuesday evening, I think we’ve only conceded four all season from set-pieces, but we conceded from a corner.
We look at the distances between our units, we look at how deep maybe we are getting. Are we getting up to the ball enough? Are we stopping crosses?
Lots of little things that can affect why teams are getting back at us. What happens in terms of Tuesday against Brentford is when we had been pegged back twice like we had when we had been in the driving seat and at 2-1 you could feel the atmosphere, you could feel the nervousness with regard to the fans and players on the pitch, it becomes a little bit of a mentality as well.
But what we did do is show great character at 2-2 and come right back into the game and get a really good goal.
It showed really good character and unity to go on and win that game. Maybe a few little things we need to iron out. It’s in the detail.
You look at the physical aspects of it all as well. That’s another aspect you’d weight up as well.

I like Connolly but Morrison can score so play him alongside Manga for a while

Just confirms that Manga will not get back into the side unless Connolly or Morrison gets injured.
10 goals conceded in the last 5 games.
And still one of the best players at the club can't get into the team.
Ridiculous.

Why doesn't he put Manga in writing on one side of a plate , Morrison on the other , spin it , then whichever side it falls on pick that player , he could even have the best of 3
