' A win on Friday '

A win on Friday would double the gap between Cardiff (7th) and Birmingham (8th) to SIX points.

But the difference between us in 6th and Ipswich in 7th would only be 2 points. Bugger!!

The table is tight as always in the championship, but we're in a great position especially considering our inconsistency. If we can put a run together we'll be right up there.

Agreed. Also a lot of people have been talking about the top 5 being settled with one place to play for but Burnley have been sucked right into the battle recently and are by no means guaranteed a play-off place.

It's actually QPR making a late run that worry me. They've got a decent squad and Hasslebank's record with Burton is phenomenal. Plus given his stature and experience as a player I think he has the composure to succeed at a higher level.

And it would be just there style to nick a play-off place from us on the last game of the season.

My top 8 prediction (for what it's worth):

Boro
Derby
Hull
Brighton
Cardiff
Ipswich
QPR
Burnley

I'd take that!

I've said all season well just miss out and finish 7/8th.

However, I think if we sign watt and hopefully this pacey winger slade keeps mentioning to replace noone then we'll have a much better chance.

burnley have shown that making predictions this early is hard. now the top 4 look untouchable, but i do wonder what will happen to brighton when they eventually lose.

A few weeks ago, I would have said that all of Middlesbrough, Brighton, Derby, Hull and Burnley were looking good for the top six at least.

But, as you say, in recent weeks Burnley have struggled. Hull didn't look too great last night either, even though they won, and I wasn't impressed with them when they came to Cardiff and won 2-0.

Burnley's last six:

Wolves 0-0 Burnley
Burnley 1-1 Brighton
Cardiff 2-2 Burnley
Burnley 0-2 Preston
QPR 0-0 Burnley
Middlesbrough 1-0 Burnley

I know they played a few decent teams in there, but that's a very poor run. Their next six are:

Charlton (h)
Hull (a)
Bristol City (h)
Ipswich (h)
MK Dons (a)
Brentford (a)

No guarantees there, they could be well off the pace after those games - as could us or Ipswich.

Actually I never realised how many sides around them Burnley had played recently.

It's funny it seems everyone in the top half is playing each other at the minute so come January we should have a real idea of how the league is gonna look.
