CARDIFF CITY SET TO SIGN TONY WATT & ANOTHER STRIKER

Cardiff City looking to sign Charlton loan star Tony Watt permanently in January alongside another striker

14 DEC 2015

BY STEVE TUCKER

Sources at the club say the Bluebirds’ hierarchy are already impressed by Watt whose current loan deal is up on January 16

Cardiff City are poised to offer striker Tony Watt a permanent deal at the club in January, WalesOnline understands, and the Bluebirds could even be in the market for another striker when the transfer window opens.

Watt, who is on loan from Charlton until January 16, has seen himself shoot to the top of Cardiff’s wanted list with officials poised to prepare a contract if his current form continues.

The all-action 21-year-old has proved a smash hit in the Welsh capital grabbing a goal in Cardiff’s win at Bolton and earning the penalty which saw the Welsh club on their way to what proved a disappointing draw in the end against Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend.

Really liked the look of Watt, hopefully around the 500k mark.

Refreshing to see someone with the attitude Tony Watt, the minute he walked through the door he was always backing his ability and he wanted to be here and play football, haven't seen him perform but he's getting a lot of standing ovations when he get's subbed and he's impressing.

When we signed him you were all saying "Clueless Slade signs a striker not able to get into a struggling Championship team, he obviously can't be any better than what we already have...SLADE OUT!!"

You've all suddenly changed your tune. :laughing6:

True.

But Slade is proving us right when it comes to his abysmal management skills.

Really hope so, he has been class every single game.

What is good about Watt is his tenacity in running with the ball FORWARDS.

Mason by contrast would look to go wide or pass straight back. That is if he was not offside.

Saadi should be both fit next month. Macheda is ready.

Do City need another striker if Watt is signed and these all stay fit until end of season?

Probably yes.

Plus...Mason is always getting caught offside. I'd like to see us sign a striker who competes with Jones. The latter is just too lazy.

I think you'll find the players will 100% disagree with you about your opinion on Slade's management skills.

Pity the players aren't doing it on the pitch though. The results don't lie and the last two home results clearly show Slade's obvious managerial shortcomings and tactical ineptitude for the championship.

That's because we have the most fickle fans in the world, the likes of Blazing Saddles don't have any brain cells

To be fair though, I highly highly doubt that the players will come out with anything negative about Slade...
