Cardiff could have been three up at the break but as it was were forced to settle for a point at full-time after seeing a two-goal advantage evaporate



Another home game. Another seemingly comfortable lead. Another draw by the end of it .



If the nature of the surrender of a two-goal advantage against Burnley at the Cardiff City Stadium two weeks ago was dramatic and painful, the repeat against Sheffield Wednesday was almost painfully inevitable.

That was because when Wednesday reduced the arrears with little more than an hour into this match, the first thought of everyone watching was one of fear for Cardiff City getting over the line.

Sure enough, they couldn’t manage it.

They didn’t react to the tactical tweak of visiting Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal who played three across the top of the pitch in a bid to rescue the game and they succumbed to a Barry Bannan goal that meant it was four points across two weeks squandered in front of the Bluebirds faithful.

But just wait for Russell to point out that we're unbeaten in three matches!
