Russell Slade on January and this time keeping hold of players:

We don’t want to lose out best players, there a good spirit in there now and we don’t want to lose that. You don’t want to lose people.

What's he looking for in January?

Slade:A bit of energy and pace upfront and maybe wide to give us options. We sometimes don’t hurt teams on the break.

Slade on play-off push and promotion credentials

Slade :We wanted top six. That’s our mandate. We are just about on course. We’d like to put some daylight there. That makes Sheffield Wednesday a defining game. We are playing some teams around us, it’s a critical period now.
Are you promotion contenders?

I think so. Only winning games and performances will tell us if we are going to get there. We are in a decent position, but we can still improve and there’s work to be done. With a fair wind and a bit of business in January we can keep this going

its all the right things hes saying. He has to back that up in several different ways. Realising (too late for some granted) that mason and whitts werent working in the team was a start. Now Ralls is cemented in the centre where he should be and Watt has had a promising start.

also the transfer window is likely to be the most crucial one for him, should we still be in/around the top 6 come Jan. 1 quality player can make all the difference.

Paulh, The January transfer market as you say is a crucial one, I believe it can make or break your season, many teams have won promotion through strengthening in January :ayatollah:

You can do it, if you don't get any injuries or suspensions, but if you really want promotion, I believe its best to strengthen if your manager wants to :thumbright: :ayatollah:
