Peter Lim more clueless than Tan?

Not trying to be smart arse but Peter Lim is not Malaysian, he is Singaporean.

Tan has confessed that previously he has relied on advice of so called 'football people' which led to the appointments of MM & Ole and a debt of £130m+

Slade was the individual appointment of Vincent Tan on a salary of £125k well below the market rate for a top 6 Championship manager. In fact we use to pay Dave Jones 8 times that amount to finish either there or just below for a fair number of years.

Looking at it like that Tan is far from clueless and could be proved to be very shrewd.

A business man with a plan A and plan B:

Plan A: Slade to get us promoted but who will be out of contract come the end of season. Tan to bring in an experienced manager and provide a war chest, sponsored by the new Premier money.

Plan B: Slade fails to get us promoted. Tan to bring in a new manager, Bellamy possible, no war chest but plenty of experienced players to pick from considering how many we have out on loan.

Man City (3rd), inter Milan (1st) and PSG (1st) all have Asian owers.

I've heard it all now! Tan shrewd is like saying Trump is thoughtful or Tyson Fury tolerant. He cost us an absolute fortune in the rebrand and we are lumbered with a huge stand we can't even use. Ultimately, he was responsible for appointing Ole, as he listened to advice and decided to do so. He has wasted I don't know how much money signing players like Velikonja, which were his own signings. He can't even be bothered to turn up to home games. I know a lot of fans of who return till he goes. I don't agree with them, but respect their choice.

Of his own making and owed, uhm, to himself! We need to remember sometimes that (a) he saved the club from going under, and (b) he can actually afford it (unlike certain previous spendthrifts)!



Not an unreasonable point when the man is clearly learning and starting to point the club in the right direction, i.e. towards a sound, sustainable financial base which will see the club remain viable even after he has gone

Gary Neville has been coaching England for the last couple of years and has been immersed in football for years. Not sure it's a good appointment but it's certainly from the left field and could work. Nothing like Tan hiring his best mates son as head of recruitment or whatever his bullshit role was.
