Bolton midfielder Liam Trotter has extended his loan deal with Nottingham Forest by another month, the club have confirmed on their official site.

Trotter has played eight times for Dougie Freedman’s side since he joined them on loan, and the Scot has decided to extend the former Millwall midfielders loan deal until January.

The 27-year-old’s only goal of the season came at the City Ground and he will be hoping to sign a permanent deal with the club after finding himself out of favour under Neil Lennon

The central midfielder moved to Bolton in 2014 after initially impressing then Trotters manager Freedman in a loan spell from Millwall.

Forest currently sit fifteenth in the Championship and they have won two games in a row and fans will hope to mount a promotion push this season.
