The time of the tactician with statistics and data is out.
Rodgers is struggling (sacked).
Moyes is struggling (sacked).
Mourinho is struggling.
Pellegrini is struggling.
Swansea are struggling (their tactics have been nullified).
Passion and high work rates are winning games.
Leicester are cruising by giving 110% every game.
Liverpool are doing well with high pressing under Klopp.
Palace have become a tough team to beat and have been galvanised.
Players like Vardy and Harry Kane are thriving off it.
Its something Atletico Madrid and Bilbao have done in La Liga for a long time to win games. Its also a tactic Chile used to nullify Spain in the World Cup and beat them 2-0.
Football is moving into another era whereby teams realise they can outwork, outrun and harass these teams that are tactically set up. They can make life awkward for them and not give them time on the ball to dictate the flow of the game. If they cant play out or create then their attack and tactical setup is nullified.

Barcelona and Bayern under Guardiola have never played a high tempo, quick pressing game? His tactical knowledge is just based on passion and high work rate? You are boardering on the ridiculous!

Leicester are playing with a high work rate.
Liverpool's Klopp have some of the highest distance covered stats in the league.
Nobody said Barcelona under Guardiola played a high pressing game. Read things properly before making emotionally reactive posts. The only person bordering on the ridiculous here is you. Instead of pestering me online with your inane dribble, put the booze away and go to bed.
I didn't even mention Barcelona in that post so I think its fair to say you've lost the plot.![]()

Ferguson was effusive in his praise of Bilbao and in particular their coach Marcelo Bielsa, who has put together a team who are not only playing free-flowing football but also have a wonderful work ethic. "I think that they could do very well [in the Europa League]," said Ferguson. "What we have seen tonight and last Thursday is a team whose work rate is higher than anyone I have seen in Europe, and that takes you a long way.

Passion and work rate you indicated were enough, you used Leicester and Liverpool to vindicate your inane point of view. Enlighten me please, do you think that Ranieri and Kolp are weak amateurs tactically, who engender in their teams a simple belief in passion and hard work?
Did you watch Liverpool beat Manchester City without a traditional centre forward? Have you not observed Leicester's prevelnce for rapid counter attack based on the pace and flexibility of their front three and the ability of Vardy and Mahrez to attack directly and put defenders on the back foot?
Did you not watch the triangulation of Bournemouth's midfield paly at Stamford Bridge to negate the influence Matic in protecting the central defenders of Chelsea against the pace and movement of King and Sanislaus?

I'm well aware. Like I said, selective reading. If you had actually read the entire post and analysed it as a whole, rather than one sentence to suit your argument, then you wouldn't have had that problem would you.
The fact you even said, 'read your last paragraph', just further backs up my claim that you selectively read. Nice cherry picking there pal.

Of course, but they're not solely relying on them. They are using high work rates to put the opposition under pressure.

You are ridiculous! So the best mangers are tactically aware, use data and statistics but also engender a high work rate and high levels of fitness In their teams and a desire to lay collectively to bring success! Who would have guessed it?

That wasn't the point I was making. I was saying Man United need someone who is more than just a tactician. They need someone like Klopp, not someone like Moyes or LVG who do not focus on high pressing games and making the opposition work.
Goodnight.

But I'd advise, go and watch some live football in a stadium not just on your laptop.

Maybe within, but is it enough to get a response in the team? Not really. Given his stats aren't that much better than Moyes', who was sacked, I'd be inclined to say no. He may well turn things around at United but I very much doubt it.But I'd advise, go and watch some live football in a stadium not just on your laptop.
I'd advise you to stop being a presumptuous clown. I've probably seen a wider variety of games than yourself. I was a season ticket holder for years, I've watched games across Europe including Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce and other derbies and I'm also a frequent watcher of football here. If you honestly think I don't watch football at the ground then it only goes to show how deluded you are.
