Cardiff City's U21 side defeated Severnside rivals Bristol City for the second time this season, with a single-goal victory in the South West of England on Monday afternoon.

Kevin Nicholson's Bluebirds took an early lead on 10 minutes, Declan John firing in a well-taken volley at the back post.

This astute finish turned out to be the only goal of a match controlled by the young Cardiff City side.

Cardiff City: Coughlan, Blaise, John (Rees, 45), Veale, Watkins, James, Southam, Weymans, Macheda (Phipps, 70), Kennedy, Harris. Subs Not Used: Abbruzzese, Burridge, Bird.

The U21 side, earlier this season, defeated the Robins in the Premier League Cup final qualifying round.

Definitely deserves a crack, haven't seen him play in a long time but he looks far better than he did when we were in the Premier League. Although it's easy to stand out when you're playing for the Under 21's.

Hopefully Slade notices.

Anyone know how Weymans played? We talked about him being ready for the first team squad within a year after signing for us, so he should be standing out a little bit?

The other two can be used when we get injuries both should be played in All Cup competitions :thumb right:

Just shows what a strong squad we have and always have had

He should have been sent out on loan at the start of the season, he could have had a load of game time by now in competitive games, that would have shown where he is instead of rotting away.

Do I think he is better than Noone, Pilks, Kennedy, Whitts or Ralls? No
