Tony Watt

Good first goal yesterday, and looked promising against Burney.
How long have we got him for? Worth a look at giving him a permanent deal IMO.

On loan until January 6th, with the view to a permanent deal I believe. :bluescarf:

We must sign him, a that runs at defences, we haven't had this for a while :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

We haven't had anyone for a while with the confidence just to run at defences. Hope we do get him. Could make the difference.

That it most certainly will. Saadi looked direct and quick on the brief glimpse we seen a couple of weeks back, with the two of them both being the perfect match for big Ken we could see some real threat up front come the new year.

I cannot see Mason getting a sniff if we keep Watt and Saadi gains fitness and shows more of the same as he did in that brief appearance.

Watt has made a very good start here. Looks very promising, fair play to Slade in this instance.

I may have imagined this, but hasn't Watt said he wants to stay at Cardiff past January? :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Charlton's loss is our gain - he looks a star in the making, the type who will give everything for the cause and his celebration proved that.

Seems like the type of player who can score something from nothing. We haven't had a striker like that for a while. About time we had a player willing to take a gamble and have an effort, and hopefully he can inspire the rest of the squad to chip in with some goals and to do the same.

Only concern I would have is that I've heard from a few folk up here he can be disruptive. Appears to be doing the business for us though so why not give him a chance.

Saadi can't play the Jones role he's only about 5'10. The one thing about Saadi and Watt is they both seem greedy and both run at defences which neither Jones or Mason do. A good combo but neither will hold the ball up like Jones I guess. Bit early to judge Watt. Seems a very useful acquisition but then again Steven Thompson scored a double on his debut and Dean Burton scored on his loan debut. Neither set the world alight for us!!

I did point this out to him in another thread after he claimed Saadi has Jones power, strength and physical presence. :laughing6:

A good start but far too soon to judge Watt. Look at Macheda when he started at Man United, and look at him now.

I don't know why people keep going on about Saadi, he hasn't done anything yet. He could be just another sicknote like Maynard. Only time will tell.

He looked like what we needed in those 20 mins but how long can he perform? And is he actually any good

I have a feeling he is going to be injured a lot.

Like what I've seen of Watt so far though, direct and willing to take players on, just what we've needed for a while
