" Fans who invaded pitch all reprieved "

Sat Dec 05, 2015 6:14 pm

All the Everton fans who poured onto the playing area at Bournmouth last weekend after Evertons 95th minute goal, have had all their possible bans recinded by both Everton FC and the Police. Everton fought the fans cases saying it was joyous celebrations and nothing sinister. This has been excepted and all the fans will face no further action. Sense at last and well done EFC :bluebird:

I understand the excitement of a last minute goal, but surely fans can control themselves and not run onto the pitch.

Cardiff would never do that for our fans, our own police yesterday warned our own fans about celebrating to much when we scored  :o

Problem is this gives the green light for further pitch invasions as fans think it's okay to do it every time.

For me I would have fined them all but given no ban. I understand it's passion and I don't think it was sinister at all but it's not allowed and deserves some form of punishment. Slap on the wrist and a small fine for me, that will deter others from doing it.

Remember, all it takes is one idiot.

Some fans could use this in a future court case.

There needs to be some form of punishment because you can't have fans on the pitch. I don't believe in banning fans for showing passion though so a fine would be the best option. There needs to be a balance of understanding and common sense.

If Cardiff fans had done this there's no doubt in my mind SWP and the club would have banned our fans for five years Annis  .

I've been on the pitch at many grounds you can't beat a pitch invading goal celebration.

I remember as a teenager I got on the pitch at Mansfield and the coppers chased me back into the away end and ripped my jumper as I jumped back over the wall. They went to come in after me and I was crawling through people's legs whilst they stopped the coppers from trying to arrest me.

A Precedent has now been set here and other fans could use this in a court of law.
