' CARDIFF CITY GET THE POINTS/BUT BOY DID WE STRUGGLE '

WE ARE NOW TOP 6 :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Cardiff City for me today struggled big time against a worse than dreadful Bolton side, this certainly won't get the City fans rushing back to watch us.
Also for me both teams looked less than ordinary and even though I am not convinced we deserve to be there, City have climbed in to the top 6 :thumbright: so as they say the table does not lie :thumbright: :ayatollah:

And as they Say 3 pts are All that matters :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Bolton 2 Cardiff City 3 :thumbright:

Tony Watt,Own goal and Pilkington for City :ayatollah:

Marshall, Peltier, Connolly, Morrison, Malone, Ralls, Pilkington, Noone, Gunnarsson, Watt & Jones
Subs: Moore, Fabio, Manga, Dikgacoi, Whittingham, Ameobi & Mason

Crowd 13,421 (504 Cardiff fans attended)

Away Support Just 504 City fans :ayatollah:

Cardiff City today, travelled to bottom of the table Bolton, who were without a win in their last 11 games, failed to pay their players, their fans already feel they are down and are looking at a winding up order, so for me this surely was 3pts in the bag.

Both teams ran out to a near empty stadium.

City started with the best football seen in over a year, leading up to Tony Watt scoring his first goal in the 13th minute :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
Then minutes later a wonder shot from Bolton's Madine made it 1-1

Fabio replaced the injured Peltier in the 22nd minute.

For some reason Cardiff just went to sleep, letting Bolton do all the attacking.

How were not ahead? Darren Pratley had an effort deflected onto the bar and the rebound was cleared off the line...

Half-Time Bolton 1 City 1

Both teams came out and attacked each other and in the 53rd minute after Scott Malone shot, Bolton scored and own goal 1-2 City :ayatollah:

in the 64th min Tony Watt had a goal ruled out for off-side.

Then City went asleep and Bolton equalised in the 72nd minute from a free-kick 2-2

82nd minute Pilkington scored a volley 2-3 :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

With in minutes Marshall made a good save :ayatollah:

Bolton had a player sent ff in injury time.

Man of the Match Tony Watt :ayatollah:

Full-Time Bolton 2 Cardiff City 3 :thumbright:

As they say 3pts is All that matters :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Today was about getting a win, it's very hard on the road. 3 points 3 goals from open play, job done. Safe trip home

We need to sort the defence but glad we have scored more than 2 goals for once even though Bolton are really shit and now up to sixth happy about that no lets push on and cement it in the top 6 Gunnarsson MOTM. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Good win in the end Annis.

Couldn't go today, but we should have won more comfortably against a team like Bolton. But as you say, all that matters is the three points.

Good confidence boost for the players to be in the top six, hopefully we can kick on from here.

Now looking forward to the FA Cup draw on Monday night :ayatollah:

A win is a win, especially after some awful results against lower teams.

Top 6 because we deserve to be.

Also worth remembering that today doesn't change anything on Russell Slade. We conceded two goals against bottom of the league, and only just won. I still don't think he's good enough.

Not sure if I'm working yet, but 95% sure I'll be at the Brentford match as long as I can afford to get there :thumbright:

Always though it would be a tricky one, and had us down for a 2-1 win. The three points are what matters, and as people often say, you can only beat whats put in front of you. I am not one of the Whittingham haters, but even I have noticed that our results seem to better when he is not playing.

100% in my opinion better off without Whitts, I am def not a Whitts hater either.

3 pts is what matters most :thumbright: :thumbright:

I agree about Whitts. He can still play a useful part in the squad, and I wouldn't like to see him leave, but the time has come for him not to start every game

Yes Whitts should not be guaranteed to start week in week out.

Annis every club deserves to be where they are in the table. The football this year from alot of teams has been poor, but shouldn't take credit away from where we are.

99% not happy and barely any credit to Slade! Only how poor Bolton were, and nothing else! :geek:

Got to agree with Paul, I said last week be a difficult game. They have drawn 7 from 9 at home and drew with brentford in the week, so why would a team with terrible away form and inconsistent be expected to Turn up put them to the sword and cone away. It makes me laugh time and time again, we have all watched enough football. Any win away is a great 3 points, 5 goals on two games in to play offs. For me the last weeks deserves credit  :bluescarf: :bluebird:

More than happy with the 3pts :thumbright: but the facts are we played a dreadful Bolton team and we struggled to beat them, Sorry that the truth hurts

Fair enough just add Bolton to all other teams we have beaten as it's same basic comments (they were crap) by most city fans (not you) when we win, as I've said before Slade won't get credit even if win league! And that's the truth

Spin it any way you want they are a team that has won 1 in 18 league games before we played today and they battered us.

Not even Sherlock Holmes could get to the bott of how we managed to win that game.

More questions than answers for me today.

True but they are rarely turned over at home, they are bottom because they aren't wining enough games. They aren't getting thumped every week. Well happy with a win

Agree on this one! I'm no Slade sycophant and won't say positives just for the sake of it but our record at Bolton is dreadful and I give credit to Slade for being sensible and dropping Whittingham today. He's not the answer in my opinion but I appreciate people who learn by their mistakes.
