Former Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has revealed his interest in becoming the new manager of Reading following Steve Clarke’s departure yesterday, according to Sky Sports.
Clarke was dismissed from his post at the Madejski Stadium following Thursday night’s 1-0 home defeat to Queens Park Rangers, a result which left the Berkshire club in ninth place in the Championship table.
The 44-year-old was dismissed by Blackburn almost a month ago, being replaced by former Norwich and Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert, and feels he still has plenty to offer a Championship club.
When asked if he would be interested in a return to management, specifically Reading, Bowyer told Sky Sports: ‘Of course, I’m looking to get back as soon as possible.
