Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda has admitted that he is determined to play his part in the club's promotion push after finally making a return from injury.
The 24-year-old made his first appearance of the campaign in last weekend's meeting with Burnley, coming off the bench for the final minute of the 2-2 draw. Cardiff let slip a two-goal lead in the closing stages of that match, which Macheda concedes was a major disappointment on the back of what had been his side's most impressive performance of the season to date. Speaking to the Bluebirds' official website, the ex-Manchester United forward said: "Personally, I'm feeling good.
I had my operation around twelve weeks ago now and finally I'm through it and feeling great. I'm looking forward to getting even fitter and contributing to the team. "I had a run-out with the development team ahead of getting out in front of the fans for a few minutes against Burnley. It's always a great feeling getting back after injury - I was very pleased with that.
