Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink named new Queens Park Rangers manager

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is the new manager of QPR, the Championship club have confirmed.

The former Leeds United and Chelsea striker leaves League One leaders Burton Albion for the west London team that is currently 11th in the Championship table.

He joins on a rolling contract and will take charge at Loftus Road immediately, although QPR's next game is not until December 12 when they entertain Burnley.

Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is expected to be announced as the new QPR manager today, according to Sky sources.

We understand talks with club officials on Thursday were positive, and a compensation figure has been agreed with Burton.

Hasselbaink's assistant at the Pirelli Stadium, David Oldfield, will join him at Loftus Road.

Be interesting to see how he does after the links with us and the hype. QPR arnt to far off where we are at the moment

Well see, nothing is garenteed. At least we're still in for a playoff spot, I think we should keep slade untill the summer and then look for a new manager. Bigger names have taken clubs down in this league

Very good.

One is a young, forward thinking, progressive, attack minded manager on the up, who has won 60% of the games he's been in charge of.

The other is a one dimensional, limited, defensive minded, inferiority complex suffering, clueless buffoon who has managed for over 700 games without ever winning a thing.

one of them could take a whole defence out with a feint to the left ,even when his legs were gone , , the other can take a whole team out, with superior tactical nous, even though his hair has gone. :sladeout:

I think it is a bit too soon for JFH, it is a big task to do at QPR, hope he does well as he seems a good guy.

Personally i think its a bad move for him. Qpr will be a much bigger expectation level than burton. And could prove his downfall pressure will be on immediately and intense

Me too, although i would have liked to see him come here. Good luck to him
