With Carl's excellent post yesterday about the huge sums we still have to pay, maybe this is the time for a touch of realism and for Dave Jones to show his skill in the loan market. After all, Ian Holloway showed what can be done, and we've got a much stronger squad than he had to start with.

I think 2 or 3 good signings will make all the difference - someone to "bully" the midfield area, a target man to take some pressure off Jay and to offer another option of playing 2 big lads up front, and possibly someone with some real pace in the same mould as Wayne Routledge.

Then possibly strengthen again in January.

Blackpool signed Charlie Adams for £500k and Hull used the loan market to good affect the season they went up (Frazer Campbell) so surely it is not beyond us to do the same, one very good reasonably priced midfielder and one good young striker on loan.
