Cardiff Duo Linked With January Exits

Vital Football

Thursday 3rd Dec 2015

If rumours have any basis Cardiff could not only lose Craig Noone the Bluebirds could also see Bruno Manga prised away with a possible return to France on the cards?

Noone, to the amazement many, isn't often able to force his way into Russell Slade's starting XI but this hasn't stopped Premier League interest from Bournemouth and Norwich with both, and not for the first time, apparently 'keeping a close eye' on the winger.

Should a route back to the topflight and, more importantly for the 28-year-old I'd suspect, regular first-team football be on offer you wouldn't bank against him not wanting this! Nor would many blame him for taking it!

Manga, who has suffered with injuries this season, is still - many would say - head and shoulders the best defender Cardiff have but he too isn't getting into Slade's starting line up at the moment with the Bluebirds boss preferring the pairing of Sean Morrison and Matt Connolly.

L'Equipe report the 27-year-old as being of interest to Toulouse with a New Year offer, which would fall someway short of the £5m paid to Lorient when he arrived in 2014, set to come in for last seasons P

To be fair to Slade - and I'm not a fan - Manga has been injured twice and the 2 centre backs have played well. It's unfortunate that he is in this position. He is a great player but I'm fed up of international payers getting injured whilst we pay their wages.

Football League news

French side, Toulouse are preparing to swoop for Cardiff City defender Bruno Ecuele Manga in January.

The Ligue 1 club have identified Manga as one of their top targets in January and are set to make an offer for the Gabon international.

The central defender has been a key figure at the back for the Bluebirds since his £ 5 million arrival in 2014 from Lorient.

Manga was awarded Cardiff’s Player of the year last season and they will look to keep hold of one their star players.

The defender has made 32 appearances since signing from Lorient, scoring three times and has proved that he is worth his valuation.

Russell Slade will be eager to keep hold of his central defender; however Manga may be convinced to make a return to France.

Manga will certainly improve Toulouse’s defensive problems as they are currently in the drop zone in Ligue 1.

If the defender is to leave the club, Cardiff will certainly want to receive a sizeable sum for the centre-back.

Cardiff City currently occupy tenth place in the Sky Bet Championship, having accrued 26 points from 18 league games.

I am fed up as well with some of them always returning injury.

Noone's a 1 season wonder, at this level i'd take Conway over him anyday of the week.

I don't understand why they keep Marshall if they can get good money for him which can help fund a better first 11. You can get a keeper good enough for championship easily for 1/2 million
