Could Anthony Stokes be heading to Cardiff?

Celtic striker Anthony Stokes, who has been linked with a January move to Cardiff City , has been suspended for two weeks for comments he made on Twitter about being left out of the team.

The 27-year-old Irishman tweeted out a furious reaction to being left out of the Celtic squad for the match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

After travelling to Inverness on the weekend despite not featuring in the match, Stokes tweeted: "Buzzing to be brought all the way up to Inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too."

Bit harsh to suspend him for 2 weeks!

playing for Celtic must mean something to him if he is upset not to get picked. Unprofessional mind, no way 2week suspension

Celtic striker Anthony Stokes, who has been linked with a January move to Cardiff City , has been suspended for two weeks for comments he made on Twitter about being left out of the team.

The 27-year-old Irishman tweeted out a furious reaction to being left out of the Celtic squad for the match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

After travelling to Inverness on the weekend despite not featuring in the match, Stokes tweeted: "Buzzing to be brought all the way up to Inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too."

At least he will be all fired up if he comes, to prove a point

Annis don't know what is wrong with that tweet, most players would feel the same, but don't have the guts to come out with it. Now if they cancel his contract then we can have him immediately, knows where the net is

I've got a lot of respect for him for that tweet.

He's probably on a decent wage at Celtic, so good that he's upset about not playing and not just happy to pick up his pay-check.

Hope we can sort something out for him next month.

He's a bevvy merchant with a bad attitude. No doubting he can score goals but he needs to stay out the pub.

He'd have been happy enough being paid sitting at home, he's more reeling over the journey to sit in the cold.

A move away could be the best thing for him.

For me - that sounds exactly the sort of player I want at our club. Someone who wants to play. Someone who wears their passion on their sleeve. Someone who is not happy just sitting on the sidelines taking home a salary.

With that sort of attitude this guy would be first on the team sheet.

Undermining the manager and embarrassing the club. From what I've heard of him he's an IRA sympathiser.

People on here had a different view when Kennedy posted similar recently?

I didn't. I said it was unprofessional and he should speak to Slade in private. A strong manager would deal with it.

Players get briefed about what they can and can't say on social media, as do employees at many different companies and if they break those rules, they get disciplined. It's all part of being a professional.

They should deal with their issues in private or do their talking on the pitch.

I'd be laughing all the way to the bank £5000-£10000 a week to watch a game!
