:ayatollah: " Fabio Fit And Ready To Return " :ayatollah:

1st December 2015

Cardiff have been given the boost of Fabio returning to training this week with it likely the Brazilian will be back in the first-team picture imminently.

In fact the former Man United defender could quite conceivably, if not probably, return against Bolton on Saturday when the Bluebirds travel to the Macron Stadium for the Championship meeting with the troubled Trotters!

He's told the BBC he's confident he'll be available to Russell Slade and 'can't wait' to be involved again.

'I can't wait to be back, actually. I really want to help.

'I trained this morning and I think I will be available. I don't know if I will start or play for long, but to be available will be good.'

Fabio has been left 'frustrated' by this spell on the sidelines, due to a foot injury sustained against Ipswich at the end of October, which arguably came at a time when he was showing his best form, on a consistent basis, since his arrival at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Being in form, and a regular, at that point made it even more of a disappointment for him but now back, and back 'quicker' than anticipated the 25-year-old added.

'It was very frustrating. I was playing good and playing every game. But I am recovered now and want to be back on the pitch.

'The boys and the staff have helped me a lot. I have worked hard to get back as quickly as possible and I think it is quicker than everyone had thought.'

Despite allowing all of the goalscoring (lack of) problems and a two-goal lead, with only five-minutes to play, slip against Burnley on Saturday in the two-all draw Cardiff are still only two-points off the play-off places.

He finished by saying he's 'confident with this team we can make the play-offs,' which is the aim for the Bluebirds, if not requirement, this season!

Fabio: Brazilian defender poised for Cardiff City comeback

BBC

01 Dec 2015

Defender Fabio is set for a return from injury for Cardiff City's Championship game at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
The Brazilian international full-back, 25, has been sidelined since sustaining a foot injury in the goalless draw at Ipswich Town on 31 October.
A scan revealed ligament damage which kept the former Manchester United player out for over a month.
''I can't wait to be back, actually. I really want to help," Fabio said.
'I trained this morning and I think I will be available. I don't know if I will start or play for long, but to be available will be good.''

Fabio, who joined from United in January 2014, had been having his most consistent spell with the Bluebirds when injury struck.
''It was very frustrating. I was playing good and playing every game.," he added.
"But I am recovered now and want to be back on the pitch.
''The boys and the staff have helped me a lot. I have worked hard to get back as quickly as possible and I think it is quicker than everyone had thought.''
Fabio watched Saturday's 2-2 draw with Burnley, who hit back with two goals in the dying minutes to earn a point.
But with Cardiff just two points away from the top six, Fabio said: ''I am confident with this team we can make the play-offs.''

Desperate to have one of our best players back? Of course it's brilliant news, Fabio is one of only a few that can actually get bums off seats when he's playing.

I for one will be happy to see his name on the team sheet again.

Our consistent best performer returning for the busiest part of the season. I'd say yes that's brilliant news.

Any player coming back from injury is good news. I wouldn't say brilliant but definitely good. Brilliant would be tan selling up and f-cking off. Brilliant would be Rambo and Bale "doing a Bellamy" and coming home to play for us.

Excellent news. He's steadily become one of my favourite players to don a City shirt.

Good news in the sense it improves the bench with options as he can adequately cover a few positions but personally i hope thats where he stays, on the bench

Speaking as a Fabio convert, I think he's better than Malone, but only just. So it's good news!
