MULLER IN, COSTA OUT?

Well, it appears Chelsea are undeterred by Lothar Matthaus’ advice to Thomas Muller, with the Premier League champions setting their sights on the Bayern Munich striker, according to the Daily Mirror.

Chelsea are thought to have joined Manchester United in the race for the World Cup winner, who they view as an ideal replacement for the out-of-favour Diego Costa.

ICYMI: MULLER WARNED OFF PL

Former Bayern Munich defender Lothar Matthaus has urged Thomas Muller to turn down Manchester United and Chelsea, and stay at the Allianz Arena for his entire career.

"He does not need United or Chelsea," Matthaus toldBild. "My opinion is he should definitely stay at Bayern for his lifetime.

“He started his professional career at Bayern and I think he should end his career here.

"He does not need any new challenge as he is always playing at the highest level every year at Bayern."

RONALDO’S MUM WANTS UNITED RETURN

Manchester United’s hopes of luring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford have been boosted by his mother, reports the Daily Mirror.

Ronaldo’s mum, Dolores Aveiro, wants the Portuguese superstar to return to United if he does leave Real Madrid next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain view Ronaldo as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-term successor and are reportedly prepared to pay the four-time Ballon d’Or winner a whopping £250,000-a-week after tax.

But, in light of the recent terror attacks in Paris, Aveiro would prefer a move back to Manchester because she feels it would be safer for her son and five-year-old grandson, Cristiano Junior.

CHELSEA STUCK WITH FALCAO

Chelsea fear they will be lumbered with Radamel Falcao until the end of the season, reports the Daily Mail.

The Colombia international has failed to make an impact since joining the Blues on loan from Monaco, following a largely unimpressive loan at Manchester United the season beforehand.

Chelsea are keen to terminate Falcao’s loan to make room for another striker in January, with Thomas Muller among those linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Monaco are hesitant to sanction Falcao's return in January, knowing they would have to start paying his substantial £265,000-a-week wages again.

ROMA KEEN ON SAKHO

Roma are still open to the prospect of signing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi are thought to have been tracking the France international for several months but are yet to make a serious offer to the Merseysiders.

However, it now appears Roma club officials have set their sights on signing Sakho on loan in January and are prepared to submit an offer to sign him.

WHERE NEXT FOR MOYES?

So with David Moyes contemplating his next move after being sacked at La Real, we look at his potential options according to Sky Bet's odds as he looks to rebuild his reputation yet again.

MOYES EYES NEW CHALLENGE

David Moyes has left the door open on a return to club management in Europe despite his first stint on the continent ending in him being sacked by Real Sociedad.

Moyes, who made his name during his 11 years in charge of Everton before an ill-fated spell with Manchester United, was given his marching orders by the La Liga outfit last month.

"I'm open minded and Spain whetted my appetite. If the right opportunities came up in the major leagues I'd be interested," Moyes told the BBC.

"I think the experience will help me. I gained great knowledge from my time there. It was great to experience what I did and I hope that will make me better.
"It's very difficult to compare the two leagues. The best teams are in Spain and many of the best players are in Spain."
