Brighton - probably the surprise team although they have a top manager at the helm, great facilities both stadium and training, a large crowd and a bit of cash behind them.
Boro - former Premier League side, bit of cash behind them and were in the play-off final last season.
Derby - former Premier League side, again a bit of cash behind them, good facilities and a manager whose learned off some of the best managers.
Hull - former Premier League side, kept a number of players despite relegation from the Premier League, manager has been backed and a strong squad. Parachute payments
Burnley - Manager has brought through some great players on the cheap and had a massive turnaround, turning them into a Premier League side, relegated. Lost Ings and Trippier but brought in some good players, like £9m Gray. Parachute payments
Birmingham - surprise side, Rowett doing a great job with limited resources, the only manager I think Slade should be compared to, Rowett is winning the battle and doing a better job than Slade.
Ipswich - In the play-offs last season, got an experienced old Championship head in Mick McCarthy who works his magic on barely a penny.
Sheff Wed - Loaded with £££, not a surprise they're near the play-off positions.
Reading - Got players who should and could be playing at a higher level, played in the PL before and may still be receiving parachute payments.
We have to be realistic. OK we have one year left of parachute payments but we've drastically dwindled down. The teams who are above us bar Birmingham, SHOULD be there in terms of money spent and invested in their squad.

Agreed but people think we should be top ten points clear on here
Although today even my 12 year old could see what was comming with ten minutes to go yet slade didn't even try to stop there extra man in midfield he just swapped like for like which i suppose comes under the wages he's worth in football terms. Tans fault, slades fault , tea lady's fault. There all to blame on here

Not a chance when all the money we spent are on players who are either languishing on the bench or not with us anymore
He needs someone even better equipped than Trollope if he wants to succeed at all here, but we pay for what we get

That's just it you pay for what you get and imo next season when half the current teams gone the ones out on loan now will feature as we have a few players out of contract and no doubt a few sold. That's what I'm thinking is going on with the cost cutting

Some who are out on loan have their contracts to renew at the end of the season, Eti, Kiss and Turner will probably go come the end of the season. Jones won't have any reason to stay here on a discounted contract when he can easily chase the dream of one final pay day in the MLS or Qatar. Hopefully the loanees that come back and come into the team are the young ones we've helped make
