Very well taken and couldn't have happened against a more appropriate opposition!
I was asked before the game whose was the better of the two striking records (Vardy and Van Nistelrooy) and I concluded that Vardy's was the better record for two reasons:
1: Vardy did it for (no offence to Leicester City) a perceived 'lesser' club
2: Vardy did it in the same season (this current one) whilst R van N did his over the latter end of one season (when other teams may have taken their foot off the gas) and at the start of the next when it took a few games for people to realise what was occurring
IMHO, a bit like Tiger Woods doing a 'Grand Slam of Golf' over two effective seasons rather than in the same year
Still mightily impressive, but not quite Carling!
