Organ Donation In/Out

Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:17 am

As of 1st December unless you opt out your organs will automatically be considered for donation.

Personally, as I would willingly accept a donation for my family and myself I feel it wrong not to give someone else the benefit of my organs, should they be required.

What are you thoughts and are you in or out?

In.

As I'm not deluded enough to base my life on a book and believe that I won't go to heaven if I don't have a full body!.

I really do believe that first, when we die we go into the earth. From there a miniscule part of us will end up in someone else. We are all one and the same!. Merging in to one.

We never die. Or at least that's what I hope!.

I have got a question that bothers me ,what's to stop them giving one of your organs to somone who has been a murderer, rapist, paedophile, alcoholic ,drug user or even a terrorist, in the past or present ,cos where I would not mind giving to someone who deserves it but not none of the above ,

The practice of organ donation isn't contrary to mainstream Christian teaching except for, I believe, Jehovah's Witnesses

Maybe not. But I think that is what goes through most peoples minds who call themselves religious.

I definitely thought it during school years.

I had to check it. I think you're right, one of those myths we tend to hold onto

Unless you are willing to give an organ then you shouldn't be considered to receive one. If you opt out then you should be blacklisted.

Sadly, if you thought about that for everything you do in life (or beyond) then you wouldn't walk out the door in the morning, as we don't 'know' 95% or more of the people we regularly interact with! :(

In the main, organs go to those with most need and that is how it should be!
