" Gabriel Tamas "

Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:36 am

A player out of contract next summer is utility defender Gabriel Tamas, who signed on a one-year-deal in the summer and could well go the entire campaign without featuring for the Bluebirds first team.

He is decent cover for our back four, what is odd about that?

he is inexpensive and decent at this level. The fact he hasn't played yet means nothing as our defence this season has been one of the more positive things about our club.

Why so many of you knock these things is beyond me.
complain about the lack of attacking football, the managers reluctance to change, the lack of atmosphere, the poor support, fine. But to complain about a decent player on low wages that can cover the back four is just showing you up to be slating everything that Slade does just because!

annis i'd think 1 or 2 decent signings and the right management we would be in the automatics  but slades transfers have been quite dire by anyone's standards .

Our defence this season has not been exceptional. Our goalkeeper has been superb and a class above the rest. Without Marshall our results this season would have been very different. Im not bothered about Tamas but I do want to see Manga put straight back in the team when he returns to fitness.

At least Slade's odd signings don't cost millions.

But Neil, judge Slade on his 14 signings and how many play week in week out?

Disagree about the defence we have been carved open so many times the only reason we don't conceed many goals is because of the superb form Marshall is in. Look at the Reading game they had so many chances but Marshall was man of the match in our win if he wasn't in goals that game we would of lost by 3 or 4.
Defence is terrible atm in my opinion admittedly due to injuries but even when manga us fit slade didnt use him

Slade may not have spent much in fees but these players he's signed still need to be paid virtually all his signings don't feature he has taken us as far as he can the longer slade stays I feel the team will only get worse :sladeout:

I am head of the queue to criticise the signing and subsequent loaning out of Doyle. Not to mention O'Keefe. But, it's relative to funds available. Ole and Malky had a lot more money and spent big on players who didn't subsequently play at all. (Cornelius, Brayford, Velikonja, Morrison (to start with), Burgustaller, Eikrem and more).

For a more accurate picture Slade needs to be judged against DJ and other managers who had little or no backing in the transfer market. When looked at like that Malone and Peltier are good signings.

look at brighton i think we got more quality in the team than them but the difference is hughton knows how to play his players to their full potential with his attacking system he got in place :thumbup:slade just sets us up to defend and not concede.

No chance.

Derby, Hull, Middlesbrough, Fulham, Wolves, QPR all have superior squads to us.

But that's still an odd decision if we are cost cutting. We would have had Turner available now. Plus there is Declan and Semi Ajay (if Slade had not loaned him). Also Malone and Fabio competing on the left. Presumably Manga could also shortly relegate Morrison to the bench (ignoring Slade's peculiar selection decisions). So why would we even need to have Tamas as back up? I thought we were supposed to be cutting costs?

Lower league players can be ok. Vardy was a lower league player look at him go.

Also of the players we bought for cash Revell, Malone, Peltier and O'Keefe were same level or higher when we bought them. Only Doyle was from lower leagues.

Re: " Gabriel Tamas "

This year's Danny Gabbidon - a washed up waste of money at a time when the club is meant to be saving money and has been loaning out centre halfs left right and centre.

Hard to see how his wage can be justified when the squad and the wage bill are meant to be trimmed to the bone.
