" Charlton Keeper Backs Tony Watt... "

Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:09 am

Not only to be successful at Cardiff but to return to Charlton at the end of his loan....at least he hopes he will!

If Stephen Henderson is right this will be seen in the weeks ahead? But whatever happens with Tony Watt during his loan spell if he returns doesn't seem so clear, especially after the admission from the interim boss to let him leave on loan was 'an easy decision to make' or words to that effect?

Watt is scheduled to be on loan with Cardiff until 16th January with Henderson saying this loan is 'probably the best decision' for all involved.

The Charlton 'keeper, who recently made his return to the first-team after injury, remains hopeful his loan with the Addicks' Championship rivals will see him play regularly, score some goals to build up his confidence again, which is what he needs, and has also told the South London Press the rumours surrounding his exit are 'BS!'

'He's a good lad and has got loads of ability. I've heard a few rumours but it is all BS. He has not signed permanently - I hope he goes there, gets his confidence up and comes back a new player.

'All I will say is that for both sides this is probably the best decision.

'I was one of his biggest fans as a player but sometimes that is just not enough. Before the season started I thought he'd get 15-20 goals minimum.

'I have no doubt he'll go to Cardiff and score a handful of goals. That's the sort of player he is.'

We'll see!
