We are now hearing Cardiff City’s bid for a Premier League striker today is looking unlikely.
Sources have told us the Bluebirds are probably going to miss out as things stand amid stiff competition from a number of other clubs.
However, it is believed they could still land the player in the January transfer window.
We are still not being told the name of the man they were after.

Cardiff City want a Premier League signing by the end of ThursdayCardiff City want a Premier League signing by the end of Thursday
The heat is on right now at Cardiff City with a feverish transfer battle taking place behind the scenes, WalesOnline can reveal.
The Bluebirds chances of bringing in a Premier League striker on loan today are currently rated as 50/50, according to sources in the club.
The clock is ticking though with the deal having to be completed before the emergency loan window slam shuts at 5pm this evening.
We exclusively revealed yesterday that boss Russell Slade is looking to add to his options up-front with a talent from the top-tier and Cardiff right now are engaged in a Battle Royale to get their man and get him in time.
Cardiff City transfer news Live: Bluebirds' chase for Premier League striker hangs in the balance
If they can get their man, it is thought the deal will come with a view to signing the player permanently during the January transfer window.
Slade saw his choices in attack boosted with the arrival of Tony Watt on loan until January from Championship rivals Charlton. The 21-year-old is expected to go straight into the squad for the Bluebirds home clash with Burnley in the Championship on Saturday.
Cardiff have struggled to find the net this term and a number of strikers have been shipped out from the club.
Adam Le Fondre, Eoin Doyle, Alex Revell, Etien Velikonja and Rhys Healey are all currently out on loan after failing to make a impression on the first team, while Idriss Saadi is injured.
Federico Macheda is currently on his way back to fitness from a back injury after playing and scoring for the development team earlier this week.
That has been a big boost for Slade, whether the Bluebirds boss gets another boost this afternoon with another new arrival seems very much to be in the balance right now.

Shambles of a club from top to bottom.
Tan out, take slaphead with you and the rest of the Malaysian Ladyboys

We won't pull it off'! can't close a door never
Mind a deal! We seem to take an age dwindling over a player then lose out!
Other teams, declare interest, make offer and player signs within days!
We seem to talk about a player for weeks with no outcome! Remember slades transfer list 1 and back up list 2!
We failed to bring anyone in off both lists!
Our issue for last and this season has been midfield!
Let's hope we can do something in January and address the issue we can all see week in week out!

Slades too busy porking the Malaysian Ladyboys instead of generating interest in potential targets.

We never get things like this done so won't happen
Thu Nov 26, 2015 4:12 pm
We haven't got the pulling power of Tans bottomless pockets any more and players can see us for what we are and that's a club with the infrastructure to be a top club but run by a bunch of clowns
