Paul

Are many of those Cardiff ones due to expire soon? Does the FSF have access to the data as to what dates they relate to and how long they were for? I presume the club must have access to this in order to enforce the bans.

The behaviour of our fans has improved so much over recent years that I feel the statistics of orders still in place is a bit misleading at the moment , although CCFC may be taking a harder line on banning orders than other clubs.

That list looks like it has teams in last seasons divisions but it does state as of September 2015...our Police force will know the current figure and how it will decrease as fans come off the bans, but I do not personally know.

Cardiff City, Millwall and Leeds United fans top football banning orders table for Championship

26 NOV 2015

BY PAUL ABBANDONATO

New Home Office figures reveal Cardiff fans are high up on Championship banning order list, with only Newcastle, Chelsea and West Ham having more in Premier League

Cardiff City have the third-highest number of banning orders in the Championship

Cardiff City fans had the third highest number of banning orders in the Championship last season, according to official Home Office statistics just released.

In total there are currently 56 banning orders slapped on Bluebirds supporters, with only Millwall (64) and Leeds (58) having more.

Newly-promoted Bristol City also feature highly on the list with 62, but they were playing in League One for the majority of the period covered by the Home Office figures. It centres around September 2014 through to September 2015.

There were 13 new banning orders issued on Cardiff fans by the authorities during the 12-month period concerned. In the Championship only Wolves (22) and Leeds (20) received more.

The Bluebirds' hierarchy have worked tirelessly behind the scenes down the years to try to eradicate any problems, working closely with supporters' groups.

Incidents at Cardiff City Stadium were few and far between, the Home Office figures stating there were just three arrests of Bluebirds fans at matches in the Welsh capital last season. This was one of the lowest figures in the division.

However, there were 15 Cardiff supporters arrested at away games, although this figure too pales by comparison to many of their Championship rivals.

Leeds had 71 of their fans arrested on their travels, with Wolves (49), Derby (32), Birmingham (31), Middlesbrough (31) and Sheffield Wednesday (30) figuring highly on this unwanted list.

Corky,
Could you bring the following up at your next FSF meeting.
Why are Cardiff much more likely to receive banning orders ? 5% of arrested Leeds last year fans got banned, nearly 70% of arrested Cardiff fans were banned. The average banning to arrest whole league figures for last year and recent years has been around 20%. We've been around or well over 50% for the last 5 years. These are now large arrest / banning samples across the whole league and the difference will be statistically significant.

There has to be a reason ? If you look through the arrest type figures we have pretty similar stats to every one else.

Shameful

We have a dedicated person who maybe able to look into this I will contact her and see what she says....it normally has something to do with the police and the courts which issue bans....once someone is arrested at football it invariably results in a section 5,4,3 or 2 of the public order act and banning orders are applied for under those sections...you should always get legal advice and fight the ban but many fans don't bother and just accept it. If it's violence or criminal damage you have less chance of beating a ban but still seek legal help ,but for drinking offences or non violent offences you should always defend yourself against a ban.
