Mid table squad are mid table

Sat Nov 21, 2015 4:57 pm

I know there will be the usual hysteria on here tonight, but as 99% said pre season we are mid table at best, its true.

Top end at home against a mid table team, 2-0 says it all

A season of transition......

How many seasons of transitions do we need?

I was just thinking this myself. I've come to terms and I accept what we are all about this season. The bottom line is with the money we're looking to spend and with Slade in charge we have no ambition and no realistic chance of getting promoted. It's not ideal and certainly not exciting but I'm happy to accept it for what it is, the massive turnover of players and money thrown around over the past few season needed to come to an end. We needed to get a settled group of players together and cut the wage bill down and to be fair to Slade he's done exactly that. He's not going to take us any further than where we are now but I'd leave him in charge for the rest of the season, it's good for squad continuity and stability.

Come the summer we need to take a different direction though, use this season as transition and then kick on next season.

Jones can still do a job in the Prem so any team in the championship would want him.

He can do a job from the bench, I wouldn't be surprised if Bournmouth came in for him again.

But, this we got a great squad thing is so wrong, we have an overpaid average squad.

Got to agree with OP now it's taking shape it is what it is which is not that to disheartening. Typical Mid table team, capable of some decent result, not easy to beat but equally will have poor results and not the quality to go to a derby and win. Still think it's fine lines as the core of the team is decent. I presume ralls didn't keep his centre spot? Criminal if so. Didn't expect anything today, bring on Burnley. Capable of winning capable of losing.
