Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino will wait until next year to sell the Yorkshire club as he does not consider any potential buyers as serious, according to Sky Sports News reporter Amy Lewis on Twitter.
Massimo Cellino is going to wait until next year to sell the club
Originally, there were six interested parties and one of them claimed to be Guiseley owner Steve Parkin, who is thought to be worth over £200 million.
The owner had made his feelings perfectly clear that he wanted to sell up as soon as possible, but will now wait until next year for a serious buyer.
This is not the first time that the owner has backtracked after originally agreeing in principle to sell to fan group ‘Leeds fans United’, and then pulled out of the deal.
The Italian has vowed to not attend any of Leeds’ games this season after receiving heavy criticism from the fans, but his decision to delay selling his stake in the club may change his mind and he may start to watch Leeds again.
This is not the first time a Championship owner has come under scrutiny with Cardiff City fans heavily criticising Malaysian owner Vincent Tan, and called for him to walk away.
