" LACK Of TRANSFER BUSINESS SAYS IT ALL "

Fri Nov 20, 2015 5:09 pm

With FIVE strikers currently out on loan, the international break was a perfect time to try to get a decent loan striker in...yet we go into tomorrow's game with no new additions.

We go into the busy Xmas period with just Kenwyn (I can only last for 60 minutes) Jones...Joe (completely out of form and just not on out and out striker) Mason...and.a crocked Frenchman as our only strikers

That strike force is not good enough to get us promoted...it doesn't take a genius to work that out

There had to be cost cutting I dont think anyone will disagree with that..but the powers to be have obviously given up on any sort of promotion push and it's only November

It's no good bringing players for the sake of it ,we need top players for the championship but its up to the premier clubs to let them out

Yes I do.....but if Kenwyn is not fit for tomorrow we have no out and out striker in our entire squad when we play Derby probably the best team in the championship!!!! It's a ridiculous situation to be in when we have 5 strikers out on loan....agree or not????

Oh no i agree. I think the decision to send revell out is especially weird. Not that i want him to stay here, but we didnt know what condition jones would come back from. Revell could have gone out on loan after this match.

Also disappointed by doyle. But hes not going much so dont think he has a future here anyway.

I think we are all in agreement that we need a striker

People will moan about whoever we bring in because they don't understand the term "cost cutting". Most of our fans think we are the free spending club with a Malaysian war chest we were a couple of years ago, not anymore.

I agree....but it doesn't alter the fact that a club with a £15 million pound parachute payment can go into a game with no recognised striker while 5 others are out on loan!!!!

Tan Don't care about promotion only cost cutting and bailing imo. Hopefully he fucks off within the next season or two after getting what he can, a few big money players out of contract to come may which I doubt will be renewed.

You will find the lesser players so to speak out on loan that's slade has signed will feature next season more as like I said a few big money players will be leaving come may. That's the plan Im sure.

We could say a club with a debt of £60 million can go into a game with no recognised striker while 5 others are out on loan

The 5 out on loan are doing nothing though.

The only player I would like to bring back would be Healey and give him a chance with the first team.

Revell - works hard but looks out of his depth
Doyle - did well end of last season I thought and was surprised we let him go on loan but he has hardly scored for PNE
ALF - don't want him back, doesn't want to be here

Can't remember the 5th

Maybe Slade will surprise us all and change to a 4-5-1

I absolutely agree that the recent break was the appropriate time to bring in a new striker.

For those who say that the window is still open but answer this, would you have preferred to have a new signing or two in before today's game with up to two weeks of settling in or wait until the Thursday before the Burnley game ?

Guera is the 5th..he's not doing bad is he!!!! (velinkona is the 6th)

The point I'm making though is that no genuine promotion contenders would loan out so many players without getting better replacements first

We are going into the busiest period of the year with no firepower...we aren't going to be promoted

Guerra, looked absolute class in the small glimpses I saw of him but apparently didn't want to be here when we got relegated.

If possible I would love him to be here playing.

I understand what your saying, but I don't think we have ever actually been promotion contenders this season, too much cost cutting going on.

Let's hope Slades contract doesn't get renewed (he's done a good job IMO but won't take us any further) and we bring in someone capable of helping us make a push for play offs/autos

You know the fans are getting desperate to see a new striker when you see people on social media hoping Jay Bothroyd will come back, hasnt he being playing in Thailand for the last couple of seasons, 5 a side Sunday league standard. :?

I think the problem is convincing anyone to come to the club .....

Bothroyd is the best striker I have seen at the club, I've been going since around 96 on and off and have had a season ticket since we moved to the new ground. Would I have him back now? No, unless it's a coaching role

That was said to be the plan last January and in the summer. Tan doesn't let players go on the cheap just trying to balance the books by not buying players.

We have quality players too.

Just need a forward thinking manager. Slade is not worried he knows he won't be going anywhere.

Another low crowd at home next week, that's the only way he will get the boot.

Have a safe trip back home :sladeout:
