Russell Slade Today Speaking to the Press

New Striker
We are confident we will bring someone in.
We’ve looked at the Championship and the Premier League.
We don’t have long list. It’s a short one in terms of an emergency loan list.
We would like a striker in before the Burnley game that’s for sure.

Indeed. I'm going to convince myself that we are signing Lee Trundle purely so I can be pleasantly surprised with whoever we sign :laughing5:

He's never been given a run in any team he's played in, trust me lads, this guy is lightning white and will score a few.

All about delivery so as long as our wingers play nice balls into the box then Tokelo will finish !!

Its only my opinion but I want a mobile striker who scores goals now, not one for the future or one that runs a lot in all the wrong places or one with no pace to get in the right place quick enough or one that blast everything over the bar from 6 yards or we just as well recall one of our loans .

How can we get an emergency loan striker when we have loaned out 4 strikers (Revel,Healey,Doyle and Le Fondre) and given a free transfer to Guerra?

I agree, we need someone with a proven record that can hit the ground running otherwise we'll be no better off.

He didn't hit the ground running though, another who didn't want to be here that's why I said that otherwise we'd have never loaned him out in the first place. He was proven yes but his head was not right here. He needed to move North he said but an hour and half up the road is hardly North is it.

But the way Slade sets up defensively we'll be lucky if Messi scores in our team.

Him not having his head in the right place doesn't wash with me if he can do well at Reading then he can do well anywhere.

Does anyone else feel tha Rantie is not a good choice.
We need a proven, a talisman who can run and score and whip up the
Players and the fans.

A sub for a championship side just promoted is not the answer

I've been told he is coming by someone who is extremely Good friends with one of the players.. Looks like we have just got him for his pace because his goal scoring record isn't great.. Much rather we try everything to get Grabban.. Proven at this level :sladeout:
